Yea, me too. I was hoping to host a little while they were in town.
Oh, the schedule of going cross-country.

Miles, just come to RunNGun and I'll make it up to you. I'll follow you around for a couple of laps so dad can take of bunch of pics. You can even go high on the bank and I'll stay low. You'll look like Cole Trickle passing me on the high side with "special match tires". I'm already plotting on how to make the car faster for RNG.

My best was 1:36 CCW and 1:34 CW. There's more there but my driving needs to improve. Mat, Clois and James Yale were right around 1:30.
Dean Lampe in his GT40 was 1:29 in traffic.
Some of the Group 1 full-race Fox bodies were running 1:26-1:28's.

When I was put on the sideline by an alternator belt I was 3rd on the weekend at 129.1. There where two late model race cars lower at 128.6 and 126.2. The real problem was traffic. It was impossible to get a clean lap. There had to be 50 cars on the first lap of Saturday morning! I have a youtube video from my in-car camera that I will get loaded this weekend.

It was really great to see all of you, what a great group of friends. I have to admit that even if it would have rained all weekend, I still would have have a great time. It is great to forget about your normal, stressful life for a few days and just be around car guys! (and Kristen)!

Sad to say the the trip around Hallet turned out to be a farewell tour for the blue Classic Roadster that I built over four years...then drove for four more. It has now found a new home.

The story behind this car began one day in 1999 when my wife looked in the garage and there was this huge engine block on an engine stand in the middle of the floor.

She said "what are you doing with that!!" My reply was...."Hey I'm just building an engine.....no reason really.....I'll find something to put it in later"

Hey John,
Congrats on moving the car! Especially in this market. Hope it found a good home.
Sure am going to miss that little fireball!

Yeah I'm gonna miss 'er. AND I was shocked when Elaine said she missed the blue Cobra too! I knew it would grow on her after a couple of years.

Sob....But we both have the red ERA to cling to in our loneliness, that helps a lot!!(or at least it helps me a lot, her maybe not so much.....YET)
