I'm starting this thread to communicate the general facts regarding today's accident in Heath, TX involving our fellow TCC member John Dean. Elaine has notified us of the following:
As a result of a rollover accident subsequent to the completion of the 4th of July Parade in Heath, John sustained fractured vertebrae in his neck, a concussion, and head lacerations. He is currently at Baylor University Medical Center, 3500 Gaston Av, Dallas. As far as I know, he is still in the ER, not in a hospital room, although that info is a couple hours old. Decisions regarding surgery or a non-surgical approach are still pending. John is awake, lucid, and his usual happy self, in spite of it all God bless him!
When we know more from the family, either myself or one of the other TCC members who are in contact with Elaine will post the info here.
I am only reporting John's status to his CC friends, and I would just as soon not see us get into the accident details here. Prayers for John's full recovery are the thing needed at the moment
Sam
Edit: Subject should say as of Fri 4 pm .. sorry! I keep thinking it's Saturday!

Sam - Thanks for the update. It was difficult to stand and watch the EMT, F/D, and Police tend to John and the accident. Glad to hear he is "his usual happy self". Any word on the service man that rode with him. He appeared not to be injured and was still taken by ambulance. We are praying for their speedy recovery.

The Marine in the car with John was not injured as far as I know and according to others who were present. He was transported but went home after being checked out at the hosp.

I left John and Elaine just as John was being transfered to ICU. As Sammy said, he is awake and lucid. More concerned about the Morning Breakfast and his car than himself
I assured him that I would be at the meeting to handle everything. After the meeting, I will be picking up my trailer and going to Steve's house to pick up John's car. If anyone in the eastarea would like to lend a hand, I'm sure that I can use it. The car will remain in my shop and storage until John is ready to decide what course of action to take.
I will be in contact with Elaine and John on a regular basis and probably will be with them when John has surgery Monday or Tuesday. I will relay any and all messages both from this thread and personally.
Please keep John and Elaine in your prayers as well as the rest of his family during this difficult time.
Jay

Jay,
That is empty until late September when I hope to get my car back. But I will still have plenty of room for at least two more cars.
