I'm having a hell of a time deciding on tires. Shouldn't be this tough. lol

You must drive yours a lot. There's a lot of people that can put a lot of money into their cars, but those of us that can't, $2k for just tires is hard to swallow. Plus shipping and mounting and balancing....

If I do purchase them, I'll either buy the Rubber letters spelling AVON RACING or GOOD YEAR EAGLE.

How are they as throwing pebbles like the Billboards ?
Can you still break them loose for fun or too sticky ?

In life, I'm always reaching for the best of all worlds.

Do you think that there's enough interest here and on other forums, to have a Group Buy for AVON's ?
I have had my SPF for 20 years and have driven 86k miles so far. I understand spending $2k on tires is hard to swallow. If your car is well sorted and making good power there is nothing else you can do to it for anywhere near $2k that will give you the performance increase as a set of Avons. You will be able to tell the difference every time you drive it. They will throw rocks if you are in small loose gravel like at the track but not as bad as Billboards. On the street I hardly ever notice them slinging rocks. I had my inner fender wells sprayed with Linex and that protects against star cracks. I guess wether you can break them loose or not depends on how much hp/torque you are making and your gearing. My car is making 470hp/480fp at the rear wheels with a 3:27 rear. It will light the rear tires up in first gear anywhere up to about 4500 rpm. After that they hook pretty good. At the strip I have found that they hook better than MT drag radials.
