Correct, they are the same casing just tread pattern/sidewall differences. Not bad tires but not really 'high performance".
I have not heard about quality issues with the MT S/R tires.
Drive down here and we will get you mounted/balanced and you can smile at Canadian Customs

I have used the Cooper Cobra radials on my roadster since it was built and love them. I also tried a set of Goodyear Billboards and hated them for several reasons which I will not go into here abd went back to the Coopers. First, the Cooper tires were available in the proper widths of 15" for my car. Second, the cost was quite reasonable compared to other brands, and third I kinda liked that they said COBRA on the sidewall and had a cobra snake as part of their logo. These tires wear well, provide good traction, and handle and drive great. For a street only car they are ideal in my opinion. I can't see why I should pay a lot more for another brand.

I have the M/T SR's on my car and have not experienced flat spotting or out or roundness. This is the only tire I have had on the car so far so I can't say how it compares to other brands but for now I'm happy with them.

SunDude,
How much did you spend on your car? Your engine/drivetrain?
What can you do to your car to increase it's present performance
by 20% .... for $1600?
Avons. Just sayin.

I replaced BFGs with Cooper Cobras and have been very happy with them. Much smoother and plenty of grip. I only have 700 miles on these but so far no issues.

I put 1000 miles on billboards and then switched to MT S/Ts. They do not have as much traction. They ride smoother, don't sand blast the car and offer enough traction for street use. I would recommend.
My last Cobra had BFGs. They do not have near as much traction as the S/Ts.

I agree.
I'm sometimes amazed at the amount of money someone will put into their car, and then save money on the tires.

I recommend that tires and brake pads/rotors are the most important serviceable items on any car, more so on a cobra.

Hercules H/P 4000 also available in Cobra sizes
I found another T-rated radial that's available in the stock F/R sizes: the Hercules H/P 4000. But I'd be surprised if anyone has ever put these on a Cobra before...
