Interest in "Group Buy" for Billboards Tires ?

I've been searching "Billboard" posts and will reply to this one. I have the same questions everyone else has, and find that the answers are 5050%, good and bad. How do they ride, through rocks, painting ect.....

This post is only,....if you want to be in this group buy, not a discussion about the tire it's self.

I've always liked the look, of the Billboards and I'm thinking of buying a set.

I talked with Roger Kraus about a "group buy" for the large lettered Billboards and he said he would. I have not asked particulars like, how much in savings, sizes, shipping ect.

For now, I just want to get a feel of how many of us would buy a set if the cost is right. I have to sell 10 orders. It may be that the more we sell, the better deal we can get but, I don't know yet. There's no sence bugging Roger if just a few of us are interested.

I checked with Brent and he said a advertisement for a group buy is fine. Here's his quote to me. "Lets leverage our groups buying power any way we can"
What a cool guy !

I realize their will be questions but, to keep this simple for now,.... write either yes or no if you're interested. If there is, enough interest, I will get further details about cost, shipping, sizes ect..... :)

Yes-
No-

UPDATE--- A DIFFERENT DEALER WILL LOWER THE COST IF 5 SETS ARE SOLD. $793.90 + shipping. PLEASE READ PAGE 3.

Yes, I would be interested. Thanks for putting this together, and I hope it works out.

If in a group buy mode why not Dunlops as they are more correct aren't they?

I just talked with Roger, (nice man) and I don't know if this will work out. I would appreciate some mind melting, and picking of each others brains, to see what we can do for all of us.

He states that he does not make much profit in selling these tires so, the best
he can do is 5%, which is apx.,......$100 a set. But you know, that's actually a real good deal. The problem is, what to do about shipping.

This is his quote to me. "Hi Kevin, we have a racer net on the tires but would consider a small discount if you can put 10 buyers together to deliver to one location".

His business is in California so, where and how, do we settle the "deliver to one location" situation ? %/

And please, let's not criticize Roger, he's offering the best deal he can, and I will do my best also.

Can Santa Clause deliver to each house ?

If, for example, the tires were 250 each, and four were 1000, then 5% would be 50 dollars.

I'm in for a set. The Blue Streaks rock! (or is that "throw rocks")

FUNFER2 02-17-2009 06:02 PM

He told me $95 savings.
Does anyone else sell them ?

I bought mine last year from my local Les Schwab dealer. They matched Roger's price and no shipping.

But then, I buy all my tires and wheels there, so they treat me nice on some things.

FUNFER2 02-17-2009 06:51 PM

Who is "Les Schwab dealer" ?

Hey Dean- Good Ole Buddy Pal- if you want a set, sell me yours and put that toward the new one's !
What a great idea !!!

Kevin, we can talk off line.

Try Sasco Sports. I have had good luck there. They might be a little cheaper. Talk to Elton if you want to discuss a group buy.

Sorry, for some reason I thought you were West of the Rockie's.:o

I'm in Husker Nation !
I wish I were in the rockies. My parent's moved to Grand Junction Co. several years ago. What absolutely beautiful country !
Dad died & mom moved back home, and that was before I built the cobra. I would have loved,... to have driven up in the mountains to visit them.

I think the group buy concept is great and I'd normally join in. But economically can't justify new shoes for the Red Beast at this moment (the MTs still have a lot of meat on them). If someone wants to talk to me about swapping their Goodyear gumballs for some sticky DOT approved drag radials, I'm all ears. :)

If you were closer, I would like to swap for a day so both of us could compare the differences.

That would be a day well spent! :)

I've been in contact with Roger via email relating to this subject. Soon, I'll be hauling my Cobra to his shop to have Billboards completely mounted - I just don't trust tire shops where I live to deal with real mag wheels.

Actually, saving $100 doesn't seem like it's worth the effort - having someone to do the job right is worth an extra $100 to me.

FUNFER2 02-22-2009 11:53 AM

I really wish we could find a solution with the shipping ?
That's the biggest issue now. Any ideas ?
