Tony:

This is my ERA Street car with 428 PI, Sunbursts, etc. Call me if you want to discuss. I PM'd you, not sure if you ever responded. I bought the stock ERA rear and had no problem putting these Sunburst on with NO modifications to the wheels at all. Original Sunburst were 7.5 x 15 front and rear. The original look is to have a "wide gap" in the rear wells...some love the look, some hate it. I like the look..but who am I...

That's the look I think of when I think of Sunburst wheels on a Cobra. Great looking Cobra!

Tony, are you doing S/C flares on a street car? Do CSX cars come with 5-pin hubs?

Might be possible to cast the wheels w/o pin holes and drill them for what ever hub or adapter the customer has?

of course the wheels will be cast with no pin holes, they are allways done at the machining stage.

Wow, this deal seems to be cooking along.
Scott - the Tommy's is Tommy's Auto center on East 14th San Leandro, not Meekland in Hayward. Use the number I emailed.
Personally, I like the Trigo offsets for the rear. I like the "filled" fender look but I also like the idea of more rubber in the rear to keep the back end under as much control as possible.
The Sunbursts are the same front and rear.

Hi Rodney,

The CSX Fibreglass car come with the same body as the SC, so the whell wells would look filled with a 10" wheel with either a 275 50- 15 or a 295 50 -15 tire.

Kurtmart, Team three is planning wheels in many widths, the same as their current AC wheeel.

The Shelby uses the Trigo five pin drive adapter.

The new shelby CSX cars have 6-pin drive hubs, like the original, with the same back spacing.

The original sunburst wheels were the same for the front and rear as equipped on original CSX3000 street cars. Original Sunburst wheels will not fit the original S/C or Comp cars without some modification, as these cars had the bigger girling brakes as compared to the street 427 cars. Some of the new CSX cars (early ones) have these same bigger girling brakes, others have the Baer which I'm not sure if original sunburst wheels will fit.

Went to test fit the wheel i have on a csx48-- car. It had PBR front calipers and 6 pin , the wheel fit with plenty of clearance for the brakes. We plan to change the rear of the wheel in the drop center area to give some more clearance for other brakes. Any other early 6 pin, girling brake cars in the bay area would be of help.

I would want the 15's with the front & rear wheel filled as my trigo's fill the front & rear. Perhaps it would be good to test fit these on a Kirkham with the upgraded Willwood brakes as well? Too bad I don't live closer? I know there are cars in your area though, if someone can volunteer?

I second Franklin's concerns.
Call Tom Eplin Jr and test them on his Willwood equipped Kirkham. He's in San Leandro.

I may be the only one but I think it looks kind of neat to have the rear tires tucked in.
Just makes it look old (read "original").

To each their own.....

All of these cars now are replicas of the originals, having it to be the image of what you want is the reality of today !!!!

My divergence from the original will be SPF with, 5-speed 427 small block, possibly the Olthoff spacers to make the windsor look like the FE etc. etc.

If I go with the Shelby five speed full wheel wells and it will have to have the FE.

The kirkham will also have the Five speed, FE but filled wheel wells with wider meat on the rear tires.

Hope Scott can come through with the Sunbursts.

Tony R.

They ARE interchangeable as of now. Tigo wheels fit Vintage adapters; Vintage wheels fit Trigo adapters. Either wheel fits an SPF adapter.

Done it personally.

Is this something new? Vintage adapters used to have a different shape than Trigo.

"Different shape" in what way?

Spinners have same 60* angle:

Spinners have same thread pattern.
Vintage spinner in Trigo wheel:

Holes for pins same diameter.

Bolt pattern the same.

Put these same Vintage wheels on an SPF last week; went right on, no issues.
Hubs same inside diameter.

Here are Vintage wheels on Trigo adapters:

The adpaters may be made differently, but the wheels have the same machining, so they are interchangeable, as are the spinners.

Is the angle on the adapter in the same place on both manufacturers adapters?
