Default TKO 600 Downshift Problem

I've had 5th to 4th downshift trouble since new, it seems to hang-up in 5th a lot but will release if I wiggle the shifter just right. In order to fix another problem I just removed the inspection cover ahead of the shifter to get the shifter and rods properly aligned (was stuck in 2nd, advice from another thread helped me out, thanks) - and now I think I see the cause of my 5th to 4th problem, but don't know how to fix it. It looks like the shifter drops into the neutral position but leaves the 5th/reverse shift rod in 5th, wiggling the shifter to the right will bounce the rod (left-most horizontal rod running forward into the case) rearward, disengaging 5th and allowing the downshift. Does anyone know how to correct this problem? Thanks in advance!

Your advise was spot-on, it was the shift finger design/machining. I contacted Rob at Tremec, and he sent me a modified finger. I just finished assembling it, and on the bench it shifts beautifully - no more premature lug disengagement. Unfortunately I'll have to wait a few more months to road test it. Thanks again for your help!
