My new TKO600 felt very notchy at first, but limbered up considerably within a couple hundred miles. I did not get any upgrades on it, and am using the stock shifter. the only problem I have is that, when shifting from fifth back to fourth I sometimes have to 'hunt' for fourth gear.
Be sure to dial in your bell housing. This is easier to do before you install the engine in the car.
Also, I am using GM Synchromesh transmission fluid.
