Default Diff. oil - shelf life?

Does differential oil (SAE 75W/90 API GL 5) have a shelf life?

Cheers,
Glen

If it does, it's a helluva lot longer than anyone that's on this forum.

Have to agree - lots of cars running around with 40, 50 even 60 year old differential lube still in them.

It's oil not milk. It's been around a lot longer than you and will continue to be

And the good thing is it doesn't smell any worse with age - stinks to high heaven from first use.

Reassuring advice....even more so as the 75W/90 that I thought was only around eight years old is actually, according to my logbook, the oil I bought in 1984 for the transaxle in my Alfetta

Cheers,
Glen
