Default TREMEC for BBF w/ SHORT INPUT

OK, I have been trying to find out which supplier can set me up with a TKO 500/600 set up for a BBF (460) with the correct length short input shaft (about 6.5 inches I think) , I don't want to use the spacer that is available as the solution. Who has experience with a good TREMEC distributor that you an recommend from experience ??? Does TREMEC build one to this spec with the short input as a special order or do the TREMEC distributors do the mod themselves and swap out the input ? I am sure one of you have already tried this path ??

Thanks

Bill

I actually changed my mind from SBF to BBF after I purchased a TKO600 from Mike Forte. He sent me the new shortened shaft and walked me thru the process of changing it out, which was pretty easy, and he left me his cell number to contact him if I needed help in the middle of the swap. He did not bill me for the shorter shaft, but simply asked me to send the long one back to him, and included a prepaid UPS shipping lable for the return trip. Pretty good customer service if you ask me!
