Toploader Jumping out of Gear

I have a freashly rebuilt close ratio (large output shaft) toploader in my Kirkham and it has a habit of jumping out of gear, most notably third. It tends to happen on the overrun when braking for a bend or junction.
Is this an adjustment issue or is there something amiss? The gear changes are smooth and baulk free, if a little slow.
Any ideas?
