Need to swap TKO-500 input shaft to a short shaft

Nah, save yourself $75. The things that can fall out (bearings) are held in by thick grease....and as long as you don't do a rain dance on the input shaft, they won't fall out.

I sell the complete Tremec transmissions and Tremec charges $75 to install them. I usually advise my customers with any mechanical ability to save the $75 and I just sell them a TKO and a short shaft kit.

Well in that case just skip the lunch, and spend the $75 at the transmission shop and you'll break even. Around here, a good lunch costs a good $75.
