Chapin

Relax, I don't mind that Peter put you ahead of me, it's me that's slow to get the car finished. I need to work a little less.

The green in Morristown sounds good.

Let's wait and see where everyone is coming from before we decide.

Jim-
There likely won't be much cobra driving this weekend- wife's birthday weekend- don't know why she gets a whole weekend, but she does. So, I'll probably not make it out until the weekend after next. If I can get out before then, I'll let you know.

Mike-
What do you have left to do?

Mike-
I didn't get the glaze from Conn. Custom, but I did pick some up locally. I will admit that I actually did use it once and it needs it again. Better to be a glazer than a waxer I guess

Supersnake-
It looks that way. Technically, this is the Tri-State Cobra Club forum, but most of the guys seem to be from NJ. You are more than welcome to join us if you want, would love to see your car. Just check this thread periodically for updates as the date gets closer. Where in NJ are you?

Mike:

Wish her a happy birthday for me. Any wife that tolerates a husband with a cobra (and stays married to him) gets high marks in my book. I must admit, my wife is a dream when it comes to may passion for cars. If it was me, weather permitting, I would take her for a nice ride to see the fall leaves changing.

Question ??????

"Tolerates"? "Weather permitting"?

ARE WE NOT MEN?? DOES TESTOSTERONE NOT FLOOD OUR VEINS??

C'mon, Jammer, simply owning a Cobra establishes you as a deviant, requiring respectful caution (and not a little admiration) on the part of your wife or anybody else.

Of COURSE she wants to go with you on a fall ride....of COURSE you need to go, weather be damned.

C'MON BOY! SHOW THE WORLD YOU'RE NUTS!!! LIKE YOU'RE EXPECTED TO BE!!!

I'm going back to my room now.....

Some of you guys are pansies.....Take a tip from me, I drive my Cobra(s) all year round. if it's cold out, bundle up, if it's warm out, don't. If it's raining, put the top up, if you have no top, then put rainex on both sides of the windshield, and bundle up for the wet weather:

Turnpike Boy:

Yes we are men and testosterone is a prerequisite to owning a cobra. But my wife is not. I can't get her out for a drive if the weather is below 45 degrees and the sun is not shinning. If you have learned how to do so, let me know.

Bill S.

The cold/heat is not usually the issue when it comes to most of us. Thats why some of us get cars with a heater. As I said it usually is a bigger issue for the wives (by the way, I hope that is not your wife sitting next to you).

As to the other weather conditions, snow and rain, I guess some of us a not real men. Maybe someday the rest of us pansies can become a man like you.

Sorry Bill S. I just couldn't resist.

Jim,

The crazy person next to me is none other than Johnny McMahon. Picture was taken at Crankys house two new years days ago. I posted if anyone wanted to join me on my annual ride, and got only JM to respond. Only I had to go pick him up in Somerset....Little did he know that I did not mind the drive down at all............That will teach him to underestimate my will for a drive with the top down.............

Bill S.

PS: You can always leave the wives at home. mine will come out with me if it's cold, but not if it is raining and cold..............

Pick her up, place her gently into the car, wrap her legs up in an afghan or blanket, zip up her coat and GO.

After all, this IS the manly way.

And - turn on the heater - if you must - to keep her pacified.

The cold is ok - but rain and cold is out - I'll get water marks on my wax job. To drive on public road you have to be a waxer, racing is illegal isn't it?

Racing on the roads is illegal. Racing on a track, under controlled conditions is not............

That is the first time I ever heard that racing on the street is illegal. Is that a new law here in NJ. As my father once told me, it is only illegal if you get caught!

For all you testosterone-filled guys... as a wife, I can assure you the simplest way to get her out and about -- rain or shine -- is to LET HER DRIVE!!!

Where is the green in Morristown?

24n to 287s to Madison ave exit, bear right, right onto south st, straight for about a half a mile. The green will open up at the end of south st. You can then drive around the green in circles till you see Cobras.

649- Congrats on getting the car on the road. Can't wait to see it. How's it ride- it's an absolute blast isn't it? Any bugs or other minor problems to work out? I'm still screwing around with my jetting, but it is getting closer.

I know you guys are going to kill me, but is there anyway we can switch it to the Saturday instead of Friday. I have a buddy who is moving into a new house on Friday and I am obligted to help him move. He's already helped me move three times so I owe him big time. If it has to be Friday, don't worry about it- I'll just catch up with all of you next time out.

Bill- What are you on the road with? I thought you just sold your car.
