When do you fellas start hanging around the Burger King in Manassas? As soon as the weather warms up, or is there an unofficial date when people start gathering? I'm about a month or so away from finishing my FFR, and am looking forward to hanging out, cruising, etc.

There are hundreds of people ready to go all waiting for you!!!!

All kidding aside, it is an unofficial thing. People will start trickling down as the weather warms up. You might even see a few cars there now if it is a nice Saturday. When in full swing during the summer, people start arriving around 4:30, most folks are there by 6:30 and it runs to about 9:30-10:00. One time we had 8 Cobras there, one was a new Shelby with all aluminum body and all aluminum 427. The place is usually overflowing with hot rods, 60s muscle cars and street rods.

Actually put several miles on it that way. Neighbors thought I had gone mad!

I was at BK when the CSX4000 was there. Pretty nice car.

I hope to be road-ready by the time the weather gets nice. I'll be there for sure!

HELLO WADE'

LOOKING FORWARD TO HOOKING-UP WITH YOU. MY GUESS WOULD BE THAT THE WEATHER WILL BE GOOD ENOUGH BY MID-MARCH OR SO. IF WE GET A DECENT FORCAST WE CAN GET TOGETHER ANY TIME.

I'M ANXIOUS TO SEE YOUR CAR.

Highwave, Ive been there a few times on Sat, but its still too cold. Only about 6-7 cars. I guess after daylite savings with more sunshine, it will pick up. I will keep you posted.

Another thought re: Manassas, We could spend the day on a nice Sat. at Old Dominion Dragstrip (1/8 mile strip) during the day, and go to Burger King in the afternoon. The drag strip and Burger King are only 10min. apart.

Does OD have a test-n-tune type of deal or is it always racing? I'd be interested either way. That is, if I can ever finish the bodywork and paint this puppy!

Yes, but I think it is called "time trials" prior the the actual racing. I don't care about winning any races either, I just want to have some fun. Their number is 703-361-7753.

How far along are you, is it almost there? What are you doing, painting it with a 1/2" brush?? It's almost Burger King time again and you know youre going to want to be there with the new toy.

I'm just about finished blocking out the seams and gel coat, and will spray the primer soon. I hope to have it finished this month! Once I paint it, I'll only need about 2 days to remount the body and re-assemble everything. If we get a nice day and you need an excuse to drive the Cobra, feel free to come out to Warrenton and check it out.

Sounds good. Just in time for the nice weather. I'll bet you can't wait!

If we get a good weekend and I'm in the mood for a cruise, I'll give you a call to see what you're up to.

Wade, I just checked out your build site. Awesome job! It always amazes me to see the dedication involved in building these cars.

Sounds like everything will be complete in plenty of time for the Spring Fling. See you there!

OK fellas. It was absolutely gorgeous yesterday and it's supposed to be just as nice today. Anybody going to BK? I'll probably take a ride over to see if anybody's there. Cobra's not done quite yet, although I did shoot the primer yesterday!! Woohhoooo!! Hope to have some color next weekend.

Chad - thanks for the kind words. I've enjoyed the project so much, it really doesn't take that much dedication. I just don't know which one I should build next! Now the website, THAT'S what takes dedication!
