Default 58 mm IDA's on a 289

Not related to tuning but an interesting photo none the less. The Webers look to be 58's on a "REAL" smallblock.

Are you sure Rick, Where is the center bolt on the outside of the rocker cover, Might be an -Olds, Buick, Rover Alloy V8 in possibly one of Reventlows Scarabs if that is the case. At least they had the right size carbs if they were 58's.Two center carbs are close together to match that port configuration.

Jac Mac..........Your point is well taken. I think you're right. It does (after closer inspection) appear to be a Rover/Buick or Olds and they are probably 48's. My mistake. When I saw them mounted sideways I thought it was an Indy type Ford 255 pushrod motor. I guess I should look a little closer next time. DUH!

This is the trouble with modern technology

It has put the average camera-man out of a job when it comes to the 'in car' footage.

Many years ago, I happen to see a set of 58MM webbers (so he said) on a FE intake, The owner sold them to some guy in switzerland for 6K. I guess they came of a cobra?.

Just curious, after all the troubles I've read about tuning, is it that hard to get them right?

I see 'albanycobra' has asked a question regarding 44 webers for a 302 efi motor he has. Would the webers he is thinking of buying be to small for his set up...
