I won't be at SAAC on July 6th, but can give some information on the setup for my ERA FIA.
I am 6'-4", 230 lbs and fit reasonably well into the car. The modifications ERA made to help me 'fit' are the following:
- The dash was shortened height wise about 3/4", effectively raising the bottom edge of the dash. This resulted in the dash having the gauge that normally sits to the left of the tach, being moved to the right side along with the other four gauges. A 'street' drop dash setup was out of the question for me.
- The roll bar was raised up about a bar diameter in height.
- The foot pedal set was moved as far forward as possible
- I went with the 427 street seats, one with the standard rubber membrane base and one with a shaved foam base. Both are about the same in terms of comfort and settling into the seat. I did use the adjustable seat track, I gave up about 3/4" of the seat being lower, but having the adjustably was worth it.
I am not sure how the pedals are hung on a Unique, but ERA has the clutch and brake pleads that come up from the floor. In my car, there is not enough room to slide one's left foot past the clutch pedal assembly. Maybe with some tweaking by ERA to the pedal spacing, it can be done. With a car that has the pedal set hung above the floor it's probably easier to stretch out one's left leg.
As Hyde suggested, best bet is to call or visit Unique and ERA. If you are up in the Bay Area let me know, you are welcome to try my car on for size.
Keep in mind these are 90" wheel base cars, so most folks over 6 feet will not be 'comfortable' per se, but once you are behind the wheel and rumbling down the road, who cares
