Hi Vince,
I'm carrying all the WSCB banners, my 10x15 tent, various check-in supplies, PA system/speakers, jacks/tools, and luggage for 2 couples, so I'm pretty well tapped out on space and probably looking for extra space myself. Last year I was stacked to the roof and on top with more to carry this year. Keep checking around... If I did not have to bring all this stuff up there, my Cobra trunk would be my suitcase for two. :) Good Luck!

Forget the truck scales...

John - This looks like the best spot to hook up. I put up maps to this meeting area at http://www.auroracobra.org/bashtrip.html

On Exit do not turn left on Geary or right on Treat but cross them and stop along this frontage road infront of Nextel building.

Planning to leave the meeting place at 10am Thursday - starting the fun weekend and heading for Reno/WSCB.

Hi Tom

I agree it will be safer to meet at Kohl's Shopping Center parking area.
Hwy 680 North past Walnut Creek, take the Monument Blvd Exit, immediately turn Right into Buskirk Ave, then immediately Right into the parking area.

Plan to leave there at 10am

John

Guys, Are there gas stations around this exit? Just curious.

Not to derail the bay area thread but, is anybody leaving from the Grass Valley or Auburn area on Friday morning?

Is anyone going through Las Vegas early Thursday morning that wants to caravan to Sparks?

Sac to Sparks

Uwe, Ken B.,
Thanks for the invitations.
I'm in a quandary about what time to leave on Friday because, according to the Track Day announcements, some sort of special exhibition is planned for lunch time at Fernley Raceway. Although I'm not signed up for track day, I had planned to run over there anyway as a spectator. It would be nice to get there in time for the special exhibition, whatever it is. That would mean having to leave this area probably no later than 9 am.
Going up Hwy 50 would be beautiful but going up 80 would be quick. I'm torn!

Nor Cal Al 05-04-2006 08:42 AM

Jim,
Kathy and I are planning to leave from Grass Valley or Auburn (if I don't hear from any GV people) on Fri morning, if you want to hook up. I wasn't planning on going to the track or ?

decooney 05-04-2006 07:13 PM

Hey you guys -

The track is 25 minutes from the hotel. When you guys get there Friday, c'mon over and check it out. If you don't like watching a bunch of Cobras, Daytona Coupes, GT40s running at moderate speed around a track and hanging out with a bunch of clowns, you can simply drive 25 minutes back to the Corral and hang out with more Cobras, Daytona Coupes, and GT40s and clowns there.

No matter where you go, there will be somone driving or sitting in a Cobra somwhere. :D

Jim Norris 05-05-2006 07:03 PM

Duane,
I'm there!:D
I just have to convince Barbara that it's no colder going over the summit at 10am than it is at 2pm.:( Wish me luck with that one.;)

decooney 05-05-2006 07:47 PM

Or you could do what the rest of us do... :D

Just say everything is fine and deal with the consequences when they hit you rather than debating it up front, and then again later when its cold anynow. Hahahahaha.

I'm leaving for Sparks in 10 minutes to go do some pre-meeting and setup work. I still have your Autorama poster-picture from last year's WSCB. See Ya. Duane

Folsom departure

We're starting to get down to the wire here. I am leaving Thursday morning from Folsom, any one else leaving in the am. Heard alot of talk for Friday departure but not to much for Thursday.

Maurice, you mentioned maybe leaving Thursday, is it still a go. We need a meeting place and time. I'm open for what ever works for everyone.

LEAVING FRIDAY MORNING 5/19 at 9:30 am from Mc Donalds in the Cameron Park Safeway parking lot. Driving up Hwy 50 thru Carson City to Fernely Race Track then to the Nugget. Anyone that wants to go show up between 9:15am and 9:30am. Driving up at a mellow Cobra speed not a slow trailor speed. ken 530-672-9978.

Ken Bisconti 05-10-2006 07:41 PM

See above leave date.

Ken Bisconti 05-15-2006 03:26 AM

Hi Jim Norris, The WSCB is getting close. Do you have a set plan yet? I am still open for Hwy 50 or Hwy 80. Is there a group from Folsom / Sacramento getting together Friday morning? ken

Nor Cal Al 05-15-2006 08:24 AM

Mornin Ken,
I am in the Auburn/Grass Valley area and we are leaving on Friday morning also. I have not heard from Jim as to the time he is going to leave. We were going to leave by about 9am from Auburn or GV but we can be flexable. I have not decided whether we are going to go out to the track or just get settled in at the hotel. I have to change out a bad clutch master cyl first.

You can give me a call at work if you wish at 916-227-7378. It would be great to hook up.

L.A to Sparks

Im driving from L.A. to Sparks in my cobra and like to know if anybody going , maybe we can caravan together.:3DSMILE:

Jim Norris 05-15-2006 08:01 PM

Hi Ken,
I decided to make a bee line for Sparks so that I can get registered and beat feet on over to Fernley for the lunch time exhibition.
I'm going to hook up with NorCal Al Friday morning at around 9:00 at the Chevron station near the Forest Hill exit on I-80. If you feel like going up I-80 come on over and drive up with us.
There doesn't seem to be a large group gathering anywhere for the Friday drive up, but hey, a caravan of three is still fun.:)
