Blas -

I have been using Valentine 1 for the last few years and love it. Directional indicator is very helpful. It tends to be little too sensitive but I'd rather have that than otherwise.

No experience with Passport 8500 though.

Blas,
So are trying to get a group purchase together? If so, I would be interested.

I am not sure you are going to find any info on Radar Detectors here in this forum...Because no one here "ever" speeds on public roads If yo udo a search for V1 and or radar detectors, you will find all sorts of posts

I've got a V1 but I haven't got it to work in the SPF. Not sure why but powering off the cigarette lighter sends it off as soon as you start up the car. Maybe someone can help out here?

As far as I am concered there is no decision. The Valentine 1 with the remote display head (about the size of a half a pack of cigarettes) is the way to go. Where to mount it in a permanent postion is the challenge.

Does anyone have a V1 mounted inside the nose radiator air intake, say, on the top of it, out of sight?
