Jeff--
That is about what I envisioned--I think you maybe only broke the spider gears-- if you can get the rear cover off you probably can replace them without dropping the whole rear end--at least then you would be back on the road, and can convert to L/S at a later date--
And Ralpie is getting new spider gears also ( 31 spline from Strange Eng. axles) maybe he'll donate his old 28s to you----??????
See, all that carb work at the intake end overtaxes the output end

I'm wonder about something Ralph was sitting in the Sid seat when this happened. My car may need an exorcism.
Hey Jerry, you may have to detune this thing because I am stuck with the beemer stuff. Just kidding, reading up on the E36 diff I find a 3.46 ratio is rated for 410 ft lbs of torque. Can you believe that? It ran great all the way down there and I calculate approx 14.6 mpg at about 75 mph most of the way there.

Wow, bad crash! He looked OK on the grass, and then all He** broke loose for him.
Anyone know if the driver in that BMW at Mid-Ohio is OK?
Dave

Dave, I Googled his name and found that at the hospital he had CAT scan, MRI's and x-rays and they found no major injuries. It states he was back spectating at the track the next day, Sunday!

Ralph,
He's one lucky dude! Glad he's OK.
