Jeff,

Good article. My take on it is I need more power! At least we got that straight.

Now if you want to edit my times into your post feel free...

1.5 60'
4.8 330'
7.4 1/8
93.48 mph 1/8
9.8 1000'
11.7 et
114.7mph

Thanks

Jerry Clayton 03-07-2007 01:11 PM

Great idea Jeff--the 1/8 mile et and mph would be great also, in case of a Cobra probably better than the 60 ft.

Everybody--wolfie can get a trailer with an upper deck for about 350large, a used K-W for buck and half so we'll have about 500thou left out of the million budjet for the 2 races---with the upper deck we can haul a couple extra cars back from the track if they break down-

You did hear that he won a portion of the mega didn't you? Lucky guy

Jerry

Jerry Clayton 03-07-2007 01:15 PM

You can clearly see that Chris is down on HP but making it in the first 60ft. We are going to take care of that and I expect with the rebuild that he'll pick up 7 or 8 mph maybe a bit more

Ralphie will be coming on stronger too with the strength of his new 31 spline Strange axles and L/S he'll be able to leave harder than the IRS cars, but he is limited with cubic inches much smaller than the rest of you

Jerry

mdmull 03-07-2007 01:48 PM

Hey he's got more c.i. than me!

CHRIS DAMSCH 03-07-2007 03:46 PM

Yeah, you tell them Mike! Size doesn't matter.............

That's what she said.

jeffko 03-07-2007 08:23 PM

Nope, it's the size of the fight in his little dog.

Anybody else going to post their time slip so Mark can produce a spreadsheet?

snake oil 03-08-2007 10:37 AM

Hey I'm gonna start my own club.
I want to be in the 17 sec. club

CHRIS DAMSCH 03-08-2007 12:29 PM

Well, I guess the 17 sec. club is better than the club I'm currently in................

The push me down the track club (the Prez is Wolfie).

This is the club you don't want to be in .

Imagine if you had two more cylinders Arcy

Jerry Clayton 03-08-2007 07:36 PM

Chris

That particular dry sump tank doesn't come with the electric pre-heater pads but has the enternal elements--only kicker is that they take 110 volts so we will need to take one of those little Honda portable gen sets to the staging lanes. Jessel rockers in that ratio we discussed is not yet available for that version of cylinder head--He said though since Nascar has accepted that change that they will be working on them and should have them by the time we're ready to run. The 4-2-1 merge collectors will be pretty short in the 4-2 section but we will be able to change the tune lenght in the 2-1 section as it will be outside the body--they will have v-band clamps like on Ralpies pipes and we just swap lengths of megaphone to change the tune. The O2 sensors also will be in 2-1 section just after the 4-2 merge.
Maskin said that the block is available with the cam tunnel already bored for the needle bearings and a 4.180 bore with the widened pan rails will clear the stroke we want to use if we use steel rods instead of the composites.

Oh, by the way, the Mopar made 1320 HP at 9300!

Jerry

CHRIS DAMSCH 03-08-2007 09:51 PM

Thanks Jerry,

Also, Could you make sure the parachute that you ordered for me is red........... So it blends in with all the cars in my rear view mirror?

Also, I heard that those special bearings were putting in the wheels on the wheelie bar are worth a couple of tenths. Were does that put us? 10's or 9's? I'm losing track.

CHRIS DAMSCH 03-08-2007 09:53 PM

By the way.....Jerry what was my actual cubic inches of my old motor? 380 something? I think I'm going to be ok hanging in there with that little 'ol small block when things are all said and done.

Chris

They are ceramic bearings for your front hubs and rear end, not for the wheelie bars.

I'm sorry that the info ended up on here--I thought I was responding to an email and the link took me to the forum.

CHRIS DAMSCH 03-09-2007 02:20 PM

CHRIS DAMSCH 03-09-2007 03:53 PM

Looks like we're only looking for a silver car to complete the rainbow in the 11's. Oh, and a dark red one (Jeff).

I just hope that when some people finally achieve the 11's......the 11's become the 10's. Just kidding. This is all in fun right?
Did anybody catch the Dukes of Hazzard reunion movie? There was a brief glimpse of a cobra replica.

CHRIS DAMSCH 03-09-2007 03:57 PM

I would also put money on seeing an unpainted car or two in at least the 11's this year. I even think one of them will be aluminum.
