Dancing days are here again, summer evening..

Mid May is coming soon and that means Byron. Is it too early to start talking trash? Just wondering if Wolfie has enough parts from Chris's car to be a contender, Mike got his tuneup as antidote to SAD, was Sid a good boy for santa to bring him an air pump, if Arcy and Spina saw the V-6 article in Hot Rod, if Fred is up to Byron after driving that cushy vette for a few months, Shelby clean his car for a few less pounds and less wind resistance, can we get some of those giant band aides for Marty, is Eric over the BBB (big block blues), make race day on Sunday so Rich will not have to take of work Friday to get there, can Capt Kirk control his starship this year, Lowell has not accidentally wrapped himself up with a patient, Ralphie avoids driving after the spring rains, David could fishtail his car (maybe) to simulate a road track, Kelly is not busy humping poles, if Joe can decide which car to race...try the cobra Joe and let's not forget the fresh meat and which one of them is bring the beer this year. I would mention Al, but he is not a member yet.

Will we see Warren and Chris with Frank and Blas in the stands? Maybe we should get some club pom-poms. Sorry Chris, that is a little unfair.

hot427cobra 03-04-2007 10:23 AM

WOW .... no trash talking here! I am sure there are a few more members you left off of your hit list. Sounds to me like the first warning shot has been fired across the bow.

Jerry Clayton 03-04-2007 11:08 AM

Thats not much of a warning shot--more like diplomacy--

A warning shot should be followed by the statement--Hailt or the next one will be lower!!!!

Chris's block is being sleeved--
Ralph has a new 31 spine posi with Srange Engineering axles, new polished stainless steel side pipe dump tube/turnouts, better air cleaner and working on better brake system(I'm trying to talk him into a dragchute but Wolfie was there and it sorta went downhill at that point)

Bob Brown trying to decide on under or over 500 inches

Warren --installing shoulder harnesses and battery cut off

Gary D.--just needs a few more runs down the quarter---fewer turns!!!

Wolfie--Mark my words--he will lower his record 12 minute time

Buick powered snakes will be a powerful force

Glen--new double disc clutch???????

More later----and I do keep the secret stuff secret!!!!

Jerry

Jerry, you have to remember these guys are just coming out of their caves and starting to scratch the ground.

They all know the underlying message is that I'll be showing them my new brake lights (now in led for your viewing pleasure) at the end of the track. :D No secret to that!

Jerry Clayton 03-04-2007 11:19 AM

Is that what they mean by red light racing?

Wolfie might beat Chris into the TENS, but remember we don't compare minutes to seconds

jeffko 03-04-2007 11:26 AM

Yeah, but we give Wolfie the age multiplier, rather divider. I think it is in his AARP handbook. Plus we will have to give him another single digit this year..Is it 60 now? If so using his divider for last year run of 10 minutes puts him right at 10 seconds so I guess you are right.

CHRIS DAMSCH 03-04-2007 01:07 PM

I hope I get to line up against Jeff this year..............................

I hope my car runs again before London...................................

Stay tuned.

Jerry Clayton 03-04-2007 01:23 PM

I think we should set it up at the races so as you two race after making two or three other runs to get dialed in--kind of a final round

We could set up a betting pool and even give odds---red blue chris jeff spd bdr etc cte

Buick powered Cobras.What?What?

mdmull 03-04-2007 04:37 PM

Just want to let you guys know a few things.
1. Jeffko is pretty far down on the trashtalk rights official list. Maybe that will change after Byron but for now I think 8th or 9th
2. Al is a member & he has the current #1 spot.
3. My SAD would be cured with a return to #1, maybe I'll actually rebuild the posi.
4. The buicks still claim high positions in the list but apparently the pumps aren't pumpin too well the past few years. They're still on the list for old times' sake.
5. Shelby could be the spoiler - 11.8 into the 25 mph headwind was pretty impressive.
6. Chris - well I think we have some pompoms - your spot on the list is shaky at this point.
7. I don't think we've seen any of the Kirkham's potential, or maybe we have. Mark has always had a little fender waxer (or should I say windexer) in him.
8. There is a Backdraft (I think) that may debut this year with some real power.
9. Gee I still haven't gotten down the list to Jeffko.

Also - to insure that the event has more attraction to the (ahem) slower cars, we are planning the May event to be a bracket, dial-in, handicap style event with trophies for winner of the eliminations, also low ET. If you want to really trash talk - win both.

Blas 03-04-2007 04:47 PM

Clayton, how many cars can you fit in your shop awaiting repairs after our first Byron outing? The club better buy a bus to bring people home from the track...

Lowell W 03-04-2007 04:50 PM

Uh...Jeff...your brake lights...?

According to the "Rules of the Road" handbook, it's illegal in Illinois to have any red lights on the front of your car... ;)

Lowell

Lowell W 03-04-2007 04:51 PM

Hey...Blas...Ya got me thinkin'...

Keslinger Road is pretty straight...

Lowell

jeffko 03-04-2007 04:52 PM

Mike, Mike, Mike,

Can we all see this list (that I think is a figment in your mind, debilitated by SAD or not) that you are referring to?

You are going to need it anyway for your quasi racing venue. I think you are rigging something so Kim can race and you can have 2 of your cars in contention. Very clever, but I see right thru it.

You can put down my best time last year as 12.103 @ 115.36.

jeffko 03-04-2007 04:59 PM

Lowell, you will see that there are no red lights on the front of my car when I am heading for the time sheet as you reach the finish line. :JEKYLHYDE

Chris, I hope we get to run also, but you are so last year. I am now looking to fry bigger fish.

Jerry Clayton 03-04-2007 05:50 PM

Us guys watching are going to judge the runs for style, finnese, and grace.

Remember that under my criteria you can get a negative score

Lowell--there have been numerous reports of Cobras and Vettes on K. Road--the cops might be watching

Jerry

Wolfie 03-04-2007 07:24 PM

All I've got to say is OH MY GOD!!!! HURRY UP SPRING!!!!!
The WCCC members have gone bonkers!!!

Blas 03-04-2007 07:50 PM

Wolfie,
I must point out that of late, you have been quiet and reserved and even well dressed I might add, ever since last Fall....We are all becoming a bit concerned. Even your famous camera was not flashing away at the holiday party this year....Anything we can do to get you back on your feet? perhaps more fiber in your diet?

jeffko 03-05-2007 03:37 AM

You are right Blas, he does seem a bit sluggish. Probably needs more rest these days. By the way Wolfie, don't have lunch by those white tube coming up thru the roofs.

Jerry Clayton 03-05-2007 06:46 AM

For those of you questioning Wolfies health--Saturday he appearred brigjt and cheerful, had a good spring to his step, eyes were clear --had his camera---really perked up when he saw the email that Ralphie had sent me about the air force drill sgt. I think he might try to get his grandson to join up so he can go visit him at boot camp!

Wolfie will run in the ELEVENS this year!!!!

The most performance gains GAINS will probably be in the red oand blue cars, not to say the yellow and silver/grey cars won't improve and be faster

Jerry
