I think the way to go these days is buying a used Superformance (ERA, etc...) Cobra. There are several out there that have 200 - 2500 miles on them for very reasonable prices. For example, why pay for a 351 c.i. or 460 c.i. "crate engine" Cobra, when you could get a custom built 351 c.i., 460 c.i., 514 c.i., etc... Cobra with all of the options for even less!
