The Umbrella Policy's carrier needs to know what sort of "thing" they are insuring you for and that you have an underlying policy on that thing that covers the first few hundred thousand or so of liability. All of that usually gets listed on the front of the policy. Always be truthful and transparent with your insurance company and agent. Never fool them in to issuing you a policy by playing "hide the ball." That will come back to bite you in the ass if you ever need them. |
