Well I hope to be one of the guys that can still get a SB-100 number this year, rather than having to wait until next year. Still waiting on my car and the associated paperwork that goes with it, so I can start the process (the MSO being the principle document).

Like you guys mention, there was probably not the demand this year for SB-100 numbers as there has been in the past. If the number is increased from 500 to 750, as proposed in the revised SB-1740 that would be good. It may be that until the economy really turns around, there just won't be as many cars requiring SB-100, being built.

The other factor that may come into play, at least in California, is the E-ROD concept, which for some guys is the way to go. That would reduce the number of people vying for SB-100 numbers.

My hope is however, that the SB-100 program will continue to exist for many, many years to come, so that car enthusiasts that want to participate in the program have that opportunity, and the guys that want to go the E-ROD route can take that path as well.
