As a prior Corvette owner and Cobra newbie I find this forum refreshing; even the negative comments and criticisim is helpful in getting me to where I need to be. Tough decision but that's the fun of this madness we call hot rodding. I might be back home (Erie,PA) around the time of the show in Ohio. If I am back up there I'll be sure to attend.
THANKS!!

Take your time,
Last winter I decided I wanted a Cobra. So I sold a motorcycle for 26k, and started shoping on ebay. Found out that for what i thought was a good car, was going to be more like 35K ( a good car to me at that point, was a shinny motor and paint ) so i sold another bike, now I have 36K (lookout, here we go, i want it and i want it now). Then somehow i found this site, joined in late March and started asking a lot of questions. (good thing) Through all the feed back i recieved, I narrowed it down to 3 brands, ERA, SPF, and Contemporary and submitted to the fact I was going spend more than 36K. Then 2 weeks ago I bought a Contemporary for 30K, with every reciept and service record since it was built in 1982, I couldn't be happer. Take your time, ask a lot of questions, listen to these guys (they are a wealth of information) visit this site often, I learn something new every day. If I would have bought on impulse, I know it would have been a mistake.

With the right timing you can definitely find a really nice Cobra for 30 to 35K. No question about that. Street Beast could be OK, like has been said, it's all about who built it and how. At least this one has a Ford engine, so thats a good start.
BUT, no matter how well made the Street Beast is you will have a really hard time ever selling it. 20 to 25K is a more likely price, no matter what kind of shape it's in. The "brand name" is just gonna be a deal killer on this one.

Naaah, just because you're being sued doesn't necessarily mean you did anything wrong.

Actually, BP is a perfect example. They are quite well known for hitting back against frivolous lawsuits with abuse of process/malicious prosecution claims. Quite successfully, too, I might add.... Though I know you were just cracking a joke -- but around my neck of the woods, folks sue people just for the sport of it. It gets to the point where a suit alone means virtually nothing anymore.

Curt Scott is not the kind of guy to bring a frivolous suit however. If Scott is involved there is likely some substance to this.

Perhaps. Although frivolity, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder.

Eh eh, well said. That reminds me of Al Capone, they got him on a "trivial" tax charge, but they got him. Now I suppose it could be said it's a trivial suit against SB, but knowing those guys, I don't care WHAT excuse is used to bring a suit.

Uh, yes, but the lawsuits that are coming for that little issue in the Gulf won't be frivolous or malicious.
I live in CA. Aren't there more lawyers here than "tea in China"?
