Mag wheels would be a huge mistake for you pal, given the humidity conditions in which you live. Also, mag can oxidize under clear coats. It's just very porous.

There's a set of magnesium wheels from an ERA (machined fronts) for sale on CC right now. Asking price = $3,500.

And once the fronts are machined for an ERA, they are then of no use to a Kirkham or CSX car, correct?

The wheels would then need a spacer to be used.
Personally, I think the master sushi chef would cut your sushi bigger for you if you pulled up to the sushi bar with those mag wheels installed.
