Side Pipes (again, sorry)!
I have a set of stock side pipes from ERA (not stainless) which I know are very restrictive. My thought is to cut them apart and reuse the turnout and let’s call it the 4" outer sleeve, (that’s what it will turn into) and toss all of the guts.
In place of the guts (muffler) I would like to run a straight 3-1/2" straight pipe with one of the following inserts shown below:
Spiral Turbo Specialties $200.00/ pr.
Vortex Insert Cones $140.00/ pr.
Car Chemistry Shop $120.00/ pr.
I know these have been brought up in other threads, but has anybody actually used either one? Not exactly cheap, not to mention the fabrication and re-coating. Thoughts, comments?
