You go for it Ned, you know you want to. I can see the old kaftan and the cheesecloth, happy daze!! Makes a lot of sense. What color is your car? Green? I mean - come on, time to turn on and drop out!

Peace and love....(and ban the bomb of course)

Ugh!! Janis Joplin's Porche 356 was at Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, OH in 1996.
My wife and I went there when we went to Run and Gun in Norwalk. OH.

Her ride had a similar style paint scheme.

I wonder if that Crazy-a$$ paint is under the purple? Ill bet with some careful sanding it could be brought back to all to its seizure inducing glory!

It appears the Blenheim Palace sale has now been pushed back to July 13, so everyone rushing over to bid should change their reservations.

I like that purple on the car, reminds me of a 70 challenger my sister use to have. I guess it was Plum crazy color but when she was in Cali in the mid 70's it was stolen and used as a getaway vehicle on bank heist. Was slightly damaged on passengers side fenders and was repainted I believe a Blurple. Combination blue and purple. Would have loved to see that color on a cobra.

COB6107, in all its BEV Group psychedelic splendour, makes an appearance in this short YouTube video. Enjoy.

I dare say I disagree, but please let me explain. A cobra is a insane car in its own right. It was build in the insane 60s. A insane paint job would be appropriate. When I was in the purchase phase I was wanting a 1960s big metal flake paint job but could not find no one to paint it so I settled for dark blue with white stripes.

I am doing the same thing. I found a guy to do it for me, so it will be black with gold metalflake and red stripes with gold metalflake.

Uhhh ... you mean I should NOT have repainted my AC in that scheme after all?

Oh Ned, you old hippy. But there was nothing wrong with a paint scheme like that in the 1960s!

Last week I was grovelling on the floor of the garage where 6107 lives, head inside the front intake, studying a large patch of pyscho-blue paint that still exists under the black paint. And under the blue was a trace of the original AC factory red paint that can also be seen around the small mesh grill! It's the real deal.....

In an unguarded moment in 1971, I started to have 3121 painted metalflake orange. After a front fender had been sprayed, I came to my senses (or the drugs wore off) and it ended up dark blue.

It would have fit in with the "Rainbow Trout" 289.........

Ah, the memories of our psychedelic youth. Or was that mammaries? I don't really recall any more.

Default AC Cobra GYK768C

In November 1966 I was living in Los Angeles. On the first of November David Vaughan of Binder Edwards and Vaughan turned up at the house of my landlord, Bob Abel, in GYK768C. David had shipped the car to New York and driven to San Francisco to appear on TV and make contacts. He stayed with us until the 12th then flew back to London leaving the car in the driveway. He had said that Bob could use it if he wanted to, so we had a few trips round town and to Lions dragstrip where Bob was making a film. David had hoped to sell the car in the US but eventually I think it was shipped back to England.

sigh...your first post here is to dredge up a 7-year old thread?

...and then I get an emergency message from hall monitor Mr. Mustang saying that you did that?

OMG...the sky is falling!

Mine was for another reason, which you skillfully left out.

Yet, it did hit on #3 of the "Newbies Read This" which you yourself added as a sticky post several years ago

Respectfully,

Bill S.
