I finally got the fuel log installed last night and also made a new braided line with fittings. Now that I can make braided lines the perfect length the first time, I probably won't need to make one again until I forget!

BTW, I got the rubber fuel line (off the log, to the carb) to not crimp. I put a piece of Stainless Steel spring inside of the 3/8" line, keeping it from collapsing. Now the effective inner diameter is roughly 5/16". The coil probably isn't good for the best flow BUT wouldn't you say it's better than crimping? Thoughts?

I had the same problem, but if you buy higher quality fuel hose, it shouldn't crimp. I found this Goodyear hose works better than some of the others and the radius from my fuel lot to my carb is a lot worse than yours......to fix it though I'd have to cut the brackets off and re-braze them, wrecking the coating, etc and I don't really want to do that.

Do you consider Goodyear fuel line better than Gates? I always heard Gates was better. The previous Gates hose, being at the end/core of the roll, had a pretty tight radius but over time it would still crimp a bit

That's an underlying issue for me - battling old vs new school.
If for some reason it doesn't work out, I'll make a new log with AN-6 fittings. For now, one of my drawers is full of plan B parts

Dude,
Your die is cast-with SO's you can't get any older-school than twin Paxtons. You nailed it.
Now, take the springs out of the hoses. So you don't lean it under boost.
If you cut them just the right length, the hoses will have a tension between the tubes and hold a perfect curve and not suck closed. Practice and put the natural curve of the hose bowing outward to give the right tension.
Lose the worm clamps and hunt down these old time spring clips. Sell all the AN crap to Patrick.
See here; has worked a charm for decades:

The brother knows what he's talkin' about. I use the same stuff. Those spring clips work well and look old-school. Re-use of them is very good. I've probably had mine off and back on so many times I lost count.
If your hose is cut to the correct length, it shouldn't kink. The hose I used came off a roll at Pep Boys. Nothing special about it.
