2 year wait+++ is a long time! People get sick, move, divorce, go broke, find other toys, lose patience, etc. Do buyers lose their 50% deposit if they back out?

After the body/frame is complete, the rest of the Cobra is not hard to assemble. I can install front and rear suspension in 2-3 work days(8 hrs a day), and u don't need to be a Cobra specialist. Fact: my buddy purchased a Shelby Mustang Snake from Shelby Inc. and the Shelby Tech who assembled his Mustang also works on Cobras (when or if they ever arrive at the Vegas shop). Look past nostalgia. These Cobras are not complicated to build and build quickly.

At least FFR got their philosophy and budget correct; these cars are for hobbyists, a niche market, and they should be reasonably priced to continue the hobby.

SAI makes Cobras with 60 year old parts and charges 3X or 4X their actual cost, a 2 year wait, and they give u a hot rod authenticated with Shelby's name and Cobra badges? With all due respect to the Shelby legacy and family, the exclusivity brand is not worth $160K++, not with the build parts and depreciation drop once the car leaves the showroom.(Is there a warranty for a roller?)

First, thank you for bringing the topic back to Shelby Cobra's. If I want to hear about watches, then I should jump off the nearest bridge.

Second, you're still forgetting about the supply/demand equation. Chipotle Mexican Grill (CMG) is $565/share right now with a P/E of 53. What is up with that? I don't understand. It's fast food Mexican style. Supply/Demand.

You will have to wait for an ERA, KMP or CSX. The KMP wait will vary, but in the past, 4-6 months is/was normal. SPF tends to be a short(er) wait.

I have 2 expensive watches: Bell Ross and a Rolex and I don't wear either. My Casio is my everyday. I do have a fake Omega and Jaeger made in Japan and neither would I wear to a wedding or to Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.

Actually was talking to McLaren Special Operations(MSO) the other week. I have been sort of stalling and trying to figure out with them certain specializations for lack of a better word. I think the entire production of 375 should be completed by Christmas. P1's have just started to be seen in the US. They kissed Jay's ass by giving him the first one imported into the US.

Actually look at the F1 production. What took them 1000's of hours to do back then can be done in a few hours now. Production of composites has come a long way. I think they originally were going to make a few hundred F1's and about 64 were produced with 36 racers. so a little over 105 or 106 in total. It is still one of my all time favorite automobiles. You should research how those have gone up in price.

Still sitting on the fence to tell you the truth on the P1. Probably one of the best cars I have driven very safe with traction control and brake steering and all that good stuff. I think it will probably save a few people that normally could be over their heads with speed. I mean with the F1 if you were at the edge you knew it but with this one amazing technology and how it is applied.

Not sure about the production either I based it on 1 complete P1 built per day so I didn't take into account weekends and I'm sure some dealers put in orders just to hold onto for that premium you know. As I understand all the cars have been ordered since last year and a wait list is in effect. I really had to think long and hard about that order..still thinking about it.

Whoa. Cars are a good investment? With very few exceptions, NO.

You keep asking the value question and that's a supply/demand issue.

However, Evan has suggested that the sales prices of aluminum CSX4000's are $200,000-$250,000 and I just haven't seen anything recently that is remotely close to that level and published in Keith Martin's Sports Car Market auction magazine. But, maybe he can enlighten us with some actual published sales prices. I call BS, until I see actual sales results. No hyperbole, hearsay and conjecture.

I know a few very peaceful and scenic bridges in the LA area I can recommend.


Rolex to me is like my Ford P/U's. Patek, Vacherin(especially the ones with invisible backs)are very nice and rarely wear any of them. My favorite one is the mariana trench watch. I still have a few MIB watches I give away as gifts.
