Going back to our scoring of fakiness - here is my tally, along with a list of the mods I've made throughout the nearly five years that I've been working on my FFR.

Points for not being real = default of 10
Points for mods = 88

I guess that means I missed having a 100 point car by just two - oh well.

I'd also be happy to share a how-to with anyone looking to do similar mods to their FFR or other fakeydoo.

• Riveted hood scoop with modified contour
• Rivets ringing the leading edge of the hood as on the original comp and s/c cars
• Rolled wheelwell / flare lips
• Smoothed and painted body underside using Eastwood Aluma-Blast to replicate look of bare aluminum
• Hidden body side mounts
• Revised front body mounts to look like original-style riveted mounts
• Original style hood prop rod and storage clip
• Bumpers w/hoops – polished stainless steel
• Roll hoop, driver’s side only, in smaller diameter tubing
• Smiths mechanical gauges set in an S/C dash layout (speedometer, tach, oil temp, oil pressure, water temp, volts, and fuel from Nisonger)
• Smiths rally clocks - stopwatch and clock
• Lock-out style shift lever with correct flat-top black knob with 4-speed markings
• Leather pull straps on doors (hooked to door latches to act as a release pull)
• Ashtray - OEM-style Cobra part
• Waxed cord wrapping on wood steering wheel at spokes
• Tags (AC Cars and Shelby American) – stamped with SVT engine # and my personal build sequence #
• Dash to transmission tunnel tubes
• Kirkey low-back vintage race seats - modified contour, leather covered with inflatable lumbar and seat heaters
• Bound carpet edges
• Rubber heel and side pads on carpet by pedals
• Degas tank – OEM Ford (modified big block tank)
• Old-style engine front cover w/v-belt pulleys for crankshaft, waterpump, and alternator
• OEM Ford dual-point distributor with Pertronix
• Pertronix coil w/spray painted yellow top and reproduction Ford decal
• OEM Ford style spark plug wires and boots
• Turkey pan for Holley 650 double-pumper
• OEM-style mechanical fuel pump
• Ford big block valve covers on adapter plates - "Cobra LeMans"
• Stelling and Hellings (small) air cleaner w/K&N filter
• Hood opening under scoop modified to fit turkey pan
Oil catch can on firewall, S/C design from Cobra Restorers
• Girling remote brake reservoir cans
• Original style hood hinges
• Hood hinge filler panel modified to look like original radiator bracket with extra tab, post, and pin
• Hidden trunk hinges
• Dash switches, OEM Ford reproduction – ignition, lighter, lights
• Original AC-style trunk lid support rod
• Trunk lid, modified without the FFR “beak”
• Grommets, rubber, front bumper brackets
• Grommets, rubber, roll hoop
• Rectangular Lucas taillamps with appropriate markings and recontoured body at taillamp mounting pads to match rectangular lamps
• Lucas front marker lamp lenses with appropriate markings
• Windscreen support rod and bracket
• "Beclawat" windscreen tag
• Lower windscreen support bracket - attaches to bottom of frame and to top of cowl
• Windscreen wipers - Lucas (FFR)
• Windscreen washers, bottle, and pump (Tudor – from Moss Motors)
• Heater w/original style body-color defroster vents on top of front cowl and "Smiths" decals on blower motor in engine compartment
• Lucas PL headlamps
• Rockguards, chrome wire, headlamps
• Halibrand-style 15" wheels with knock-off center covers
• Avon tires
• Soft top and side curtains (AC-style)
• Tonneau cover – black vinyl
• Side curtain ferrules with support tubes showing on door interior
• Rolled cowl front and rear with exposed rivet heads on lower edge
• Front cowl grab handle (289 version)
• AC pedal covers (brake and clutch)
• Original-style throttle pedal (using overhead mount, though)
• Mechanical throttle linkage
• Side louvers painted body color
• Enamel badges (Cobra) for nose and tail
• “AC” center for steering wheel
• “Powered by Ford” badges for sides (289 style without engine size)
• Badges, AC logo for knock-off hub centers
• Wind wings with original style mounting blocks - not the clamp-on style - for use with the original style side curtains
• Sunvisors
• Windshield side post plates and gaskets
• Vintage Road America water transfer decal for the windshield
• 1965 Road America tech sticker – reproduction
• Early ‘60s reproduction Sebring 12 Hour Endurance decal
• Safetywire on wheel knock-offs
• 1965 license plate (CA Shelby manufacturer)
• Cobra - Carroll Shelby Motors license plate frame
• Foot-well ducts with period-correct pull knobs on far outside edges of dash
• Map reading light on passenger side of dash (sourced from MGA supplier)
• Engine bay battery relocation with Lucas decals and fake filler caps on battery
• Rolled door openings with exposed rivet heads on underside of roll
• Foot dimmer switch for headlamps with rubber pad (Ford OEM part)
• Vintage Ford style engine bay wiring harnesses (reproduction Ford part)
• OEM Ford style solenoid and voltage regulator (reproduction)
• OEM Ford 1G alternator with “Autolite” production ink stamp and OEM appearing brackets
• Oil cooler
• Factory-appearing placards/decals/labels
• "FoMoCo" stamps on appropriate hoses and parts
• Tecalemit grease gun in trunk
