Patrick, did you ever consider using bike chain lubricant instead of Dri-Slide? My bike shop sells Dumonde chain lube and until I read your post, I was going to re-lube my cable with their Pro X Light formula. PRO X LITE Chain Lube | Dumonde Tech | Bicycle Chain Lube | Motorcycle Oil | Bike Lube | Chain Lubricant|

Side Note: They need to change the name.....doesn't sound like anything related to machinery.
