The 3000 series, whether, the original 1960's 3000 series, the 1990's Completion Series or this new 2015 "Competition Series", the darn things keep coming back to life or being resurrected.

Just humor. All in good fun.

Badges are always very important.

No matter what "Gold Hat" (the Mexican bandit character in the Treasure of the Sierra Madre) had to say.

Would you rather have one by Drew or one by Kirkham, add that to the story...

How about something that is certified as engineered and built directly by Shelby American in their own shop like the old days? Just thinking that if this is such an important car they would have brought everyone to their place and not farmed it all out.
Where is Phil Remington when we need him? (RIP)

I guess some men like wearing jewelry. You know, to explore their feminine side.

Well, you gotta admit that there aren't that many people in this world with $500,000 to spend on a Cobra replica that would want to hang out with a bunch of losers like us.

Nope. I suspect the majority of them will be on container ships to places unknown!

Don't get me wrong. I love the car, the heritage and the the quality...and everything they are trying to accomplish. Just seems to me like they went the wrong way.

Just my 2 cents...

I'm still trying to figure out how anyone can build seriously expensive replicas of circa 40+ cars that never existed? That takes smoke and a lot of mirrors.

One day Ferrari will catch on and build replicas of the other 34 1964 GTOs that they didn't get around to building as nobody bothered to order them. But had they had the orders - they would have made them. So best make 'em now, it's never too late (obviously). Around $20million a pop should do the trick......

Ferrari has never been about the money, to me anyway. They've always limited their production to protect the brand's reputation. Ferrari had previously capped production at 7,000 cars per year, but recently has increased the production cap to 10,000.

$20 Million a pop? That would be a "bargain."

Shelby is about survival at this point. They've got to figure out something to do with a 50-year old car, so they try to keep creating buzz and excitement, by exploiting their brand and customers.

Let's see there's the Terlingua Edition, Bill Elliott Edition, 40th and 50th Anniversary Editions, FAM Edition, Completion Series Edition, Competiton Series Edition, and next year it's the Gumball Rally Edition.

Editing the original to try to make it clearer:

It turns out that is likely not true. It is true 100% in CA . The MSO contains no restrictions. When I asked about it it was more of a free form discussion than an answer, but the best summary I can give is that CA was an absolute NO but there was no claim of an absolute YES in other places.

So to follow the progressions, other jurisdictions may not have the restriction that CA places on the power train/vehicle assembly. Others besides CA do as well. However, said vehicle will also likely never be licensable in those places that do place restrictions. That was as far as I went since I could sense it was sensitive topic. I'll wager with pretty high odds that vehicles will find their way on the streets in some places. I can pretty much guess at places I wouldn't even try and I can also guess a few places where you might have a shot. But if you want a guarantee, buy a muffler.

I would look to the likes of Lynn Park for that answer, if there is one.

Then somehow, they'll have to navigate around the Federal laws regarding the sales of completed cars that do not meet 2015 emission and safety standards. I can't wait to see that and I sure hope the first owner to register his or her Resurrection Cobra will it post it here.

Of course, we're just speculating. The press release states they cannot be registered for street use. Let's see what happens. I'm sure the authorities will be watching closely.

Note I edited my original post after you were probably composing your quoted reply to try to clarify what I was saying.

You betcha places are watching. I'll guarantee you CA will have a BLACKLIST.
