RodKnock, you sound like a very happy guy.

Glad the whole Cobra scene puts a smile on your face.

I can help with that. Before i bought my Cobra I met Lance at his shop and he was a complete jackass to me. Very rude and condescending.
I was back there on another occasion cars/coffee type thing with some friends and inquired about buying some billboard tires he had as they were between production runs and getting hard to find. He quoted me $450 each which was over double the typical price. When I asked why so much he said "supply and demand if you don't like it find them elsewhere".

I wouldn't piss on him if he was on fire and will certainly never purchase anything from him. Nothing against the cars but he's an ass.

In my view, it's not an inaccuracy to call you and Mr. Muck representatives, whether it's in writing or not or paid or not. And fail I see any other my inaccuracies, but for the misspelling of Mr. Stander's name. So please, I'd certainly appreciate it, if you would stop insulting me, even though you are when you say you're not.

Rick is an independent SPF dealer, but he doesn't represent the company? Come on. Just stop. Sorry, he must make representations on behalf the company and product because he sells it. And from my armchair here, it sure sounds like you're making representations on Mr. Stander's behalf, such as expressing his disappointment with the article. You talk to him regularly, as a friend, your privy to a letter to dealers, etc. Sure sounds like a representative to me.

I, OTOH, other than a few conversations and emails about the purchase of my car back in 2007, have never spoken to Mr. Kirkham or anyone at KMP, except for one or two customer service issues (bad gauge, starter switch, I can't remember, it was so long ago). Bit of a relationship difference in my mind.

Anyway, moving along. **)

Ok, I will stop insulting you. I didn't realize your feelings were so easily hurt and offended. For that I am truly sorry. I hope you are able to accept my sincerest apologies.

You're on a roll and doing quite well. I'll say that much.

Please no disrespect or offense ;), but I often lament that we, as a nation, have lost our reading comprehension abilities. You actually wrote that post and didn't think about the tonality of it?

I gotta stop now. Best of luck to ya! :)

You're the fair-haired golden boy around here. Me, OTOH, well, let's just say I'm the flaming a$$hat. Rick and I can start a new club.

That's because I am usually "Zen Bernica" here. It comes with age and understanding of people. I don't look for fights anymore, but I can still finish them.;)

Like Groucho, I wouldn't join any club that would have me as member!

In fact I run the "Lone Wolf Sports Car Club" an organization that does not allow membership!

Well I, for one, already like Randall.:3DSMILE:

Happy as a clam! As long as I'm not the clam that ends up in my Cioppino. Thanks!

Just remember, it's Bernica who posted the article. It's all his fault.

I hear you. This is the only club I belong to. I am am not a "clubby guy" much. I did used to ride my Harley with some guys that we will call "the one percenters", so I get it. That was back in the day...

First, why wouldn't you go somewhere like Roger Krause for tyres rather than walk into a place that isn't in the biz of selling tyres? You don't think you will pay retail (or more)? To me, that's like walking into a Ford dealer asking for new tyres...

Second, why the Billboards? You are going to buy some tyres that will last you not so long. This I know. Call Krause and order the Avons and be done with it. They will be at your house in a day or so.

OK, I'm done.

This is why I am only on here once in a while. Posts like this. I have known Lance for many years and IMHO he would NEVER speak to a customer in this way...nor would he speak to another person this way. He might tell them why his costs are where they are...and he might tell them other avenues to pursue...but he would never speak to them as this gentleman says he did.

People have a tendancy to piss all over others on CC and it is not fun to read. If I cruise by to review something here, it never fails to see rudeness come to light. I read a lot and post if I can contribute in a meaningful way. But to have to rebutt slander like this...ugh.

Be back in another 4 years...maybe.

It's only being brought up now, again, because of the article on Mr. Stander and SPF.

That, in and of itself, is mind boggling. That's like discussing if water is wet. %/

EVERY car show, race or event I have ever been to has just had all people respecting each other's car, no matter where it came from. I can't remember ever over hearing smack-talk or anything like that. And that includes SPF's, FFR's, Shelbys, Butler, ERA etc. The list goes on. Once you are in person and meeting folks, it's totally different than typing on a keyboard, IMHO. To me, we are just a family of fans enjoying what we have and somehow can enjoy what they have at the same time...;)

patrickt 07-13-2016 06:13 PM

I don't know about that. I think I have met more jerks in person than I have on line.
