There are some nice people here. But... Jack |
As I posted in post #79, I won't repeat it. But to me if you made it this far and now own your dream car, that should be it and you should be congratulated for that. I don't really give a real sh$t what it is...your are in the family now because you figured out how to get it!

Interesting that Superformance has this on the front page of their site:
"There's an exception when it comes to Jimmy Price and Lance Stander. Superformance International makes replica Cobras in South Africa and calls the two-seat roadster they build the MKIII. It's not a true Shelby, but I've endorsed and licensed the car for being as close to correct and well-built as possible." - Carroll Shelby (Octane, Oct. 2006) And then on the individual Cobra MK III page The Superformance MKIII is the only Cobra replica built under license from Carroll Shelby Licensing Inc. What makes the MKIII so much better than its competitors? It looks like an exact replica should. It is sure-footed, reliable and is as exciting as the great sport roadsters of the sixties. Each rolling chassis comes completely assembled and painted, less engine and transmission. So obviously Superformance is NOT marketing their cars as ORIGINAL Cobra's. Carry on with your bickering. |

So posting about my experience with the guy who's the main topic of the thread is slander? You are welcome to your feelings about Lance as is everyone else but this is a "forum" meaning everyone can contribute to the discussion and I posted about my experiences dealing with him. If dissenting opinions bother you so much perhaps you should find other forum that doesn't allow it. |

Buddy's post would be interesting to me, if it were in fact what we're talking about, which was the Forbes article. And the Forbes article dealt with more than just the SPF selling cars as more than just a Superformance. The article also discussed other subjects like the word "genuine," "replica" and "kit car." And also discussed CSX.
I thought the matter was settled when at least some of us agreed that the Forbes article was "disappointing." And it was to me. |
Just thought I would chime in. I will leave it alone now as I think we are all in somewhat agreement.

Yup, nothing else to see here.
Let's all go back to helping identify part numbers, color codes, MSD, TKO vs Toploaders, wiring issues (that's for Patrick) and the whatnot that provides more substance and information to the members, IMHO.;) |

Some people hear just whatever they want. No matter what, or how you tell them. Then they proceed to write or post whatever there little heart desires... There are examples even on this forum as recent as gt-gate where people take their own liberties with facts. That's why you can't trust the media cnn, bbc, or faux news You just can't put brains in bricks. Fwiw: I'm with the SPF boys hear. No harm. No foul. Play on. |

And I've been the sole dissenting voice in a crowded room before, so I'm not going to fear going alone on matters. |

I been to races/open track events/local car shows/regional car shows/national car shows and gatherings and so far every Superformance owner went out of his way to diss any other make of Cobra Replica there......had a few come up to me and tell all the faults of the other manufacters and how great the Superformance is...........and best of all, I don't even own a Cobra replica, I have a 1965 GT 350 clone/replica/tribute/look-a-like POS or whatever you want to call my car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! From my meetings with Superformance owners I would never own any of their products if owning one makes a person act the way I see them act....... And I LIKE the Superformance line of cars!!!!!!!! just don't like the owners... It would take no less that 5 pages here to tell you of the encounters I had with them!!!!!!!!!! and none were good!!!!!!! End of my rant...... David |

@DavidGagnard, add me to the short list of Superformance owners that doesn't rag on others' cars. I can't justify committing 7 figures towards a real cobra, so I bought a replica of one. I suspect 99% of replica owners did so for the same reason: to get as close as possible to the real thing without committing the retirement savings to one car. To me, we all share the same passion for these cars. Which replica you own and drive is moot, they are ALL great, and being enjoyed by their owners. Ragging on another replica? Makes zero sense to me. Live and let live. And I love GT350 clones too.....no fear of ruining a real one while actually ENJOYING it? That's BADASS!
Don't hate, just help spread the gospel..... |

If your CAR had a choice in picking its owner, the car would have not picked you. The CAR would definitely not have wanted to be painted beige. |
