Lance Stander (Superformance) makes Forbes

Nice job Lance! A great story and great for Superformance! For those that have not met him, he's a great guy.;)

Forbes Welcome

fordracing65 07-12-2016 08:20 PM

Must be nice. Good guy Lance. I bought my spf from him.

RodKnock 07-12-2016 09:43 PM

Oy vey. Did you read the article?

All I was trying to point out is that he's a good guy. No, I don't own one of his cars, but have been to a few shows with him and Shelby and he has always been a good guy with me, at least.

Kit Coyle 07-12-2016 10:04 PM

Do you think he has Real1 on speed dial?

I'm sure he's a nice guy to knock down a beer with, but he's selling cars and dreams and I'm just not buying the BS. ;)

I'm just ecstatic that I own a Kirkham. That's all I have to say.

Come on Rodney. So you're saying that the Kirkham boys aren't selling a dream? Shelby was the king of selling the dream. If he didn't, you wouldn't have your museum piece. Cheer up sunshine.

twobjshelbys 07-12-2016 10:40 PM

There seems to be plenty Kool Aid to go around.

I like Crystal Light myself.

Long time no talk. Stop scheduling those breakfasts for Saturday's at 8:30 am and I'll come. I hope all is well with you. :)

Dreams are fine, when they're based in reality. Kirkham, Shelby and Superformance all sell Cobra replicas. Only Kirkham tells you that they're selling a replica. The others say their Cobra is genuine, when it clearly isn't. And that's SAAC's current position in 2016.

RodKnock 07-12-2016 10:44 PM

Sorry, Bernica. I apologize for mucking up your thread. That's my fault 100%.

scootter 07-12-2016 10:56 PM

I also thought it was a good article!! Dreams are what you make them. Unfortunately, a lot of people can not make them a reality!!

a replica is an absolute exact copy of the original, kirkham makes them and ofcourse shelby when using kirkham bodys, but spf are making something else ..

Forbes Welcome

Great article, but I'm sorry to say, I'm also embarrassed for him with some of the comments (bordering on ignorant) he made within.

Unless you have an original AC Cobra, they are ALL replicas, copies, recreations, etc. Even the "continuation" cars are not original Cobras. What's the big deal, anyway? I own one of his Cobras and I know full well that's it's not a real Cobra. I don't fool myself into thinking otherwise. I love it just the same. Cool article none the less.

Bill S.

Bill and all.

Please note that Lance sent all of the dealers an email with a link to the Forbes article. He also made us aware that they misquoted and made factual errors in the story. As a rule journalists do not share the story with the interviewed prior to publication so there is no opportunity to give corrections or resolve misunderstanding.

While Lance is very positive on the product, he knows what it is and what it is not. It is not an "original Shelby" and we do not represent the product as such. It IS a "Shelby licensed product" (as are some other items) and in the case of the 289 MK II a virtual duplicate to the original with allowances for available materials and parts as well as numerous improvements which the Hi Tech built Shelby cars also feature.

Also some of the cars pictured are "Shelby's" as Hillbank is also a Shelby dealer. I an sure the reporter did not understand or notice the difference. This is not a case of lance trying to confuse people as to what is a "Shelby" and what is a "Superformance"

I am certain that Lance would not have approved the terminology used by the Forbes writer if he had the opportunity to do so.

Let's cut him some slack......
