Nice. You did get lucky. That is one of the reasons that I decided to build a race cobra. Curently they do not ticket you for going over 100 mph on the track

How far did you get before getting the warning ticket? was he impressed with your car?

I was about 15 minutes into the drive and was freezing, it was 45° out. Yes the cop was about 24/25 years old and asked me all about the car and he was impressed. I think if it was someone who wasnt into cars it would of been another story. I can see why u made yours into a race car, these cars are nasty, in a good way.

Ordered the intake gaskets to reinstall the manifold I recently finished polishing. Now finishing up the 1" spacer to make it match the manifold.

Blew my brains out trying to install a low alternator mount from CVF Racing ( https://www.cvfracing.com/Ford-Big-B...-altbrkt-l.htm ). While the setup would probably work on most BBF Cobras, the WCC has a frame rail that's in the way. I tried my current alternator as well as a much smaller 95 amp 3G alternator, but all was fruitless. I've re-installed my old 100 amp 1G large frame / case alternator, albeit with the billet fan ( https://www.cvfracing.com/Alternator-Fan-p/altfan.htm ) and pulley ( https://www.cvfracing.com/Ford-Big-B...-p/bbf1alt.htm ) from CVF.

Next up is wrapping up the plumbing on the power steering re-installation, this time using the CVF bracket ( https://www.cvfracing.com/Ford-Big-B...0-psbrkt-s.htm ) and billet pulley ( https://www.cvfracing.com/Ford-Power...t-p/bbf1ps.htm ).

Given a gift from the folks at Deccofelt in Cali.
Best cover on market
Rubber backed not foam so sticks in place way better as well as not leaching plasticizer on paint.

Flushed the coolant, put in a new 180 thermostat and added a quick drain ball valve on the radiator.

I took my dash out a couple months ago, in order to add a glovebox and clock, and well, it turned out like crap- several wrinkles in the vinyl, and I just couldn't get them to flatten out, so I ripped it all back out and re-did it again... This time I made a totally new panel, re-drilled for all the gauges and switches, and thankfully, this time it came out looking much better.

I went with a street 289 style layout:

and, I recently got my hands on a 289 eggcrate grill, so....:

(notice in the pic above that the rollbar is gone too, I took it out in order to strip the chrome off and powder coat it black, but I kinda like the look without it, so I might run it sans rollbar for awhile... )

I have a ball valve on my lawn tractor to drain the oil, but I have a brass pipe plug in the outlet - just in case the handle gets bumped and opens accidentally. It may be prudent to do the same on your radiator drain.

Hi Brian, Yeah I thought about the same thing. It has a pretty firm spring that locks the lever into an L slot but that would suck to have it pop open somehow so I ran a zip tie around the groove as extra insurance. That's what they recommend for off road trucks, etc where something might hit it too. I've only had the car since last October but it felt like 15yrs of running that drain bolt in and out of aluminum had its way with the threads so I drilled and retapped it for this drain.

Looks really nice Robert. You did an excellent job on the dash and on the exterior as well.

My refreshed 428 was put back in the ERA. Now for a few days of electrical, oil and water hook ups and plumbing then a few test rides. Can't wait.

First engine refresh since 1992! 39K miles on ODO.

The usual spring maintenance items, Oil change, Oil filter, new alt. belt, new brake pads, plugs, cap, rotor, air filter.

I'm in the middle of installing the Tredwear lettering kit I bought.

Default Working on Tuning a Quick Fuel SS 650 AN

I recently replaced my Edelbrock on a factory built engine. It would just run right in the idle and near idle range. I am still setting up the QFT carb and its been mush smoother so far.

It's about time you are installing the Tredwear letters, Stu. Let's see some pics of how they look.

Mike I know it's about time............. I have the tires pretty much all prepped and ready to go. Just waiting for the temperature to rise a bit before I apply the letters. Hopefully this week end!
