With the sidepipes and all - brings a whole new meaning to the term "hot rod"

The scary thought would be if it turned into the movie, Demolition man.
And there are no more fuel stations. JD

Wiring zipped tied to frame is a bad sign.
Big electrical fire about to happen.

Yeah... no kidding. Electric powered cars is no place to skimp on wiring.

Maybe it is just me but I like the sound of the motor when I drive mine. There is a guy here that has an electric powered Carman Gia and it just doesn't make any noise at all and I asked him how far he could go on a charge as we live in the mountains here and he said around 70/85 miles but it does better if he heads South where the freeway is mostly flat.

I'm considered a to be a millenial but I grew up around 2-stroke motorcross bikes, hayabusas and V8's. I cannot knock the innovation but I would rather just not have a cobra if it had an electric motor. The smell of fuel, sound/feel of a radical rumbling cam, loud side pipes along with pure raw feeling is what the cobra delivers. Can you imagine how insanely boring it would be to be going down the road in your cobra listening to all the creaks and squeaks and just the roar of the tires.
Maybe I'm an old soul in a somewhat young body. I still have faith in gear heads. My experienc is that still firing up a serious sounding V8 draws more attention than all this new technology regardless of how many thousand pounds of instant torque it has etc. Lets hope Chevrolet can still hold it down with their pushrod V8's and resist going full out Rainbow season Richard Simmons like Ford did with the new Ford GT.
Anyways.....everyone has a right to their opinion and to be creative so kudos for the work that went into this car.

 - good one!
So far the old pushrod SBC is still more than holding its own. The new ZR-1 is setting lap records all over the place, including besting the new GT times. Supposedly it will still be available in pushrod form when the new mid engined 'vette debuts in 2020 alongside two new gee-whiz OHC V8's.
I'm very open minded when it comes to new tech, but I admit to being disappointed when Ford put the Eco Boost in the new GT.
BTW - in addition to a blown OHC V8 under the rear hatch, there are plans to offer an optional front mounted electric motor for a combined total of 1000HP +
Ford really needs to bring back the Cobra.

So, you'll take back those racing wins?

I'm confused.... Are you talking about the Ford badged Cobras, or actual Cobras.

No - I was initially disappointed that it wasn't going to be a V8

The Cobra ll Mustang (not!)
A brutally fast, world beating Ford-badged or produced sports car in the spirit of the original (AC/Shelby) Cobra to compete directly with the Corvette.

AFAIK, Ford never had anything to do with the AC/Shelby Cobra.
