I’m not trying to stir the pot or call anyone out—I’m genuinely confused here. I’ve met one of the two women involved with the Cobra Experience, and corresponded with the other, and they were extremely competent and knowledgeable about Cobras. As I’ve posted before on this site, the Cobra Experience collection itself is a pretty amazing thing, with several small- and big-block Cobras, a Dragon Snake, a King Cobra, a bunch of Shelbys, a McCluskey Daytona, and an incredible amount of parts and memorabilia. I came away very, very impressed with the whole outfit, so I’m curious to know where they stand vis-a-vis SAAC and the print registry. Given that the last edition was apparently printed in 2008, it would seem that there is probably a whole lot of info about these cars generated in the intervening dozen years that only the online registry could have.

Someone enlighten us, please!

Per a SAAC registrar early this AM, the two are semi intertwined...The back story was that SAAC was not going to offer any further printed versions, and after a hefty sum was spent to create the online version (the entire SAAC database is not currently uploaded there), SAAC and it's registrars decided to create one more printed version. My understanding from Ned (Cobra registrar) is that he is getting the slabside registry ready for print as we speak. Others to follow as time and updates allow. Suffice to say, the SAAC registry has come a long way from the original, 1982, 480 page version........

A new printed Leaf Spring Registry was printed in 2019. It is presently for sale on the SAAC website, for $65 I believe. The Registrar is completing the Coil Spring Registry now to be printed soon. He keeps the online version updated, which contains both leaf spring and coil spring.

BTW, you used 'that' term again They are correctly called street 289's

Yes, I believe that I paid $65 for my copy of the Leaf Spring Cobra Registry.

That term 'slabside' has always grated a little with me. John Christy referred to Shelby's original car as a 'roadster' in his road test way back in 1962.
I've always thought that 'slabside' was just a colloquial term.
