Hi Steve,

That was mainly from research I’d initially done online pointing that out and then my asking the Evans tech about it. From my prior notes he said in effect…’lower surface tension of Evans vs water can cause leaks in small cracks that weren't leaking with water’. I also did experience seemingly more difficulty stopping leaks around bungs and such, cool at rest, versus what I’d experienced with water/antifreeze. Compared to water under pressure, you may have a point, at least I won’t have to worry about that now.

For me the main reasons I opted for it were possible reductions in corrosion, pressure, and periodic replacement effort, and a more consistent/controllable cooling aspect of my overall system.

I take great joy in eliminating rust and corrosion! When working at a service station at 15 a hot radiator blew on my upper body and face as I was doing drive through service working over the engine compartment on one of our fleet account rigs. My Cobra system also blew a hose from pressure. The chance to eliminate pressure sounded good to me. Eliminating some recurring maintenance overhead time and handling of fluid changes and flushing is also welcomed, converting to drive time.

It sounds like you don’t really have a pressing need, which is a good thing, not broke don’t fix. If/when broke or fixing, could be a worthy consideration at the time, at least given interest in concepts like I was seeking to achieve. That said, everything has its pros and cons that warrant research and prioritizing for the individual/situation for sure. This product just seemed right for me and my goals. I know many do their research and feel otherwise in their assessments for their needs.

Take care…Brent
