Hello everyone, evidently the company will not backup their wanting to work with me to create the Group Buy for their Avon tires. They told me to get a number on how many buyers/sets. I did and was amazed,...on how many that would be. I and a friend tried all we could to make a LOT of money for them and save US on a great tire, that is now $2,400 plus shipping.
The only way they would accept the Buy, is it all...the tires were going to ONE location, then we pick them up. Their explanation is this, it would take too much time to ship to 40 different address, which has a point, if we only had say, 10 etc. But, if my math is correct, the company stood to profit a lot of money and,...return buyers of over 40 to 45 people. With their 4 tire price of $2,400 (x) 40 sets is apx. $96,000. Then take off whatever percentage they would accept from 10% to even 25%, that could mean $72,000. How long do you think phone calls from us 40 or so people take in time, then to fill out the order and ship ?
I know when I had my business before retiring, if it took my office and shop employees 40 hours (one hr. per order, yes, that's a extreme projection) even if it made my company $10,000 in 40 hrs/5 days, hell yes,...I'd take the time ! lol They/we could move the numbers all over the place in details, I'm sure they would gain around $50,000. So what is their issue, please explain ?
I don't want to spend $2,400, plus shipping, mounting & balancing. That's near $3,000
Sorry guys, I thought I could do this for all of us. I spent a month trying, very hard, with nothing to show.

They would be cheaper and would have the real GY billboards.
If you've driven you's on all types of roads and speeds, how do you like them ?
I've heard great to crappy. The almost get bump steer in the roads grooves. They get flat spots easily. Don't keep air up etc.

I "LOVE" billboards however they are too big for 289.
My 427 car has them, once aligned right and balanced BB are in my opinion great! I will continue to run them on my big car.
Never experienced issues with any of my cars.
1) Get aligned
2) Road-Force balance

Now that you mention it I think I've heard of this before in another tire deal on another forum. The same happened on another group buy of a part that Ford was liquidating.

I do have the Buy on facebook, but nothing about buy of a "part that Ford was liquidating". Must be something else.

Just turn it in to a positive. They don't have to ship the tires to each individual buyer, but have them delivered to a few regional sites, then have the buyers drive their Cobra there and you get them mounted and road force balanced all at the same time while you wait. Voila! Problem solved. With my pin drives and large calipers just getting the tires balanced and mounted properly was most of the PITA.
PS - I'll take 10% for solving your problem for you, thank you very much.
