SCOBRAC,
What the hell is wrong with the neighborhood?
All you got to do is move two blocks this way, and it gets real classy and ritzy. The place is crawling with Real Cobras!!

What's the WORST thing someone said about your Cobra?
"Is that a Kirkham"?

Ernie,
I would think the worst thing anyone could ask you about your Cobra is WHERE IS IT ?
I have had the usual is it the same kind of car James Dean was killed in, is it real, is it a Falcon, & etc. Two drunks actually got into a fight over wheather it was a Falcon or Comet and the cops hauled them away. Obviously mine doesn't resemble an original Cobra in many ways.
I guess the worst one was when I was sitting in my chair at a charity meet reading a magazine and some woman came up and started cussing me for bringing that dammed plastic piece of **** to the meet. She raved on for about 10 minutes about people that wanted to be important and their phony plastic cars and they don't belong in their class, meaning hers. I just followed her over to see what she had .There set her and her husbands genuine original 1932 Ford, Coddington whees, Super Interior, really was as it took best interior of show. Real steel body except the four fenders, running board, trunk lid and part of grill work was fiberglass. Also I didn't know that 1932 Fords came with digital dashes but theirs did.
I guess I will really be different and make a car out of wood and card board.

Jamo, me lad
..luckily I've got MY plates on her! Here's a cyber hug... Shoot word to Pete C, that I want him to come to the Cape first----then on to Maine. There's a reason: I want to show him Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute (the mysterious "WHOI" in the previous post). He may have already been there, but under different circumstances. The Raucous Red Road-Rocket brings out the aging, shriller-type hippies. What ever happened to the universal tolerance thing? Remember "Do your own thing, Myannnnnn"? I KNOW, Ronnie-me-Bie! I'll just screech "It's DIVERSITY!" The Lefty-bots will just freeze in their sandlaista tracks! I'm headed to DC this morning (no-no-no---in the clapped out Toyota 4x4!)
Plan #2 There some old circus-stock left at the Barnstable County Fair Grounds (wagons, caliopes, cage-carts). We make a "Caliope Bong" and leave it on some Woods Hole (read Cambridge, Berkeley, etc) corner---we fill it ganja laced with paraquet and/or strichnine (sp?)!
Chow,

"Why is it that all you do is babble incessently about a car you don't even own???"
Too bad I don't have a good retort for that one.

Someone looking at my car remarked that it was a great looking "ten footer"! The comment was prompted by the extent of the road rash! When its track days are done, I’ll have it repainted but until that time it makes little sense.
Fred,
Been to WHOI many times. Been thrown out of the Captain Kidd on two separate occasions some 20 years apart! If I come down I may go for the hat trick!
Cheers, Pete

I have only had my Cobra for 6 months and have already had it with all the "Is it real?" and "it's a kit car." comments. The way people say these comments are as if they were talking about a cordoba or a maverick. I have owned a bunch of special interest vehicles in the past, but have never seen this amount of negativity before. Oh well, as soon as I start the car up and drive away I remember why I had to have it!

"Move dat ogly piece a sheet out from de fo*kin road, mon!"
Declared by a dreadlocked guy in a beat up old Suzuki Samaurai held together with stickers and tape stripes at the entrance to a beach access. I stopped alongside, looked at my passenger then back at his "car" and we both busted out laughing. The two girls with him started laughing too and as he drove away I could see him giving them a piece of his mind (generous of him, I thought, considering how little he had to spare).
