Motor Running On

My stroker is continuinig to run and sputter (sounds like detonation) for a brief second after I kill it - I run 108 leaded mixed with 91 pump gas. The carb was just tuned not too long ago so I'm wondering why this would be happeneing ??? Any thoughts ??
