You might trawl the intranetty Lord Muck, but my source is the folders containing thousands of magazine and newspaper articles dating back to 1960-ish (AC Ace dontcha know?) Plus in excess of thirty books but I never trust them cos those rascal make things up - allegedly

The one the OP was talking about is in#23 on page 2.
Another group of cars that used Cobra chassis' are the Bordinat Cobra and the Cougar II. Cobrajeff can fill in more information about these if you are interested as he has worked on both of them.

The special edition book is about to go to the printers within the next week (give or take - literally just this minute finished my final check before proofing). Available from Home | collectorscarworld.com - the finest sports- and racingcars, 206 pages, 12x12 inches, lots of nice snaps. Only 289 copies (see what we did there?) available plus 25 'special' slipcased copies for those that like nice things. Will drop more info plus a few photos at a later date. It covers the Cobra story, then the European 50th meeting in Germany, the Goodwood Revival Cobra Cup race, a 'scrapbook' chapter of previously unpublished period 'owners' photos, a gallery of car photographers, etc.....kept me busy during 2012......

I had forgotten about the book. I left my information with someone from that website months ago about buying a copy of the book when it becomes available. I hope he has not forgotten that I asked about buying a copy...

What book page 2" are you talking about? I was just looking in COBRA The First 40 Years by Trevor Legate it says CSX3063 chassis only shipped to GHIA . That makes it the GHIA COBRA ??? Or like so much else from that time "ask three people a question and you get three different answers".

I still have a list of those people who have requested a copy and will be in touch with everyone once we have copies in our hands! The delay has ben mostly due to a lot more content being added and the time it takes to put this kind of book together.
Re the 'Ghia Cobra'. This refers to CSX 3055 which should be called the Willment Cobra - it was fitted with a Fiat 8V body from the 1950's which just happened to be designed by Ghia. Referring to it (incorrectly) as a Ghia Cobra just confuses everyone!!

Are you and the person from the website each maintaining your own separate lists? Or have you combined your information into a common list? If you have your own list, should I be on your list too?

I had hoped the website owners would handle the orders but quite few people have contacted me directly, although it's not my department! However, when we have the books, we'll make sure we don't have any duplication and of course, we'll be in touch...

CSX 3063 has always interested me. Today what make a car a specific brand or year or model?? It's the vin or chassis number. So CSX 3063 was built by AC as a subcontractor to Shelby American and Ford, assigned a CSX comp number and shipped to Turin and had a experimental body made for it and fitted with a Ford 428. So I guess today it has been fitted with a Cobra body and it is being marketed as a comp Cobra. So my question is , Is it??? It does have a genuine CSX comp Cobra chassis/serial/vin number. So it definitely does not have the cleanest/truest pedigree but it is still a Cobra that just had a rebody, like the Daytona's they were still called Cobra just with a body change.

Point of order: neither Shelby American or Ford ever assigned a chassis number to any Cobra and/or chassis. Only AC Cars Ltd did this.

I found the cobra pics in the 'Cars & Girls' section fairly easily, but couldnt see where the book is linked?
- maybe somewhere here.....
http://www.vintagestyle.eu/books-and...s-and-dvd.aspx
which seemed to link across from the same site.

Sure if you are talking about "original" cobras that makes sense, but if you are talking about "real" continuation cobras, well...
On the other hand, when it comes to "original" made in the 1960's cobras, we also have Wally who re-assigned serial number CSX0000 to an existing chassis. That is a power that neither Shelby American nor Ford had.

To all those writers why say Lady Campbell had a Ghia Cobr
Recently I was wondering about it so I looked her up. She said on the phone she was offered the car but turned it down in favor of an E-type.

Well if you're Wally and go on match.com and check the box in the search criteria "Own's an Original Cobra", you might find Lady Campbell too.
I think we should not disclose to Wally the rumor that Miley Cyrus is single and apparently owns a Cobra, otherwise he might try and call her as well.
Miley Cyrus at Barrett Jackson accidentally purchases rare flip top Cobra CSX2196 when she thought she was bidding on special Hello Kitty edition Hugo
