Quoting from the Instruction Sheet supplied by Ford Racing for my 460/535 crate, part no. 6007-B460
"An engine oil cooler such as the SVO M-6642-A101 is highly recommended - -"
" Oil temperature should be maintained in the 220-270 degree F range"
Actual street experience on my car - on hot Florida days in traffic, oil temp stays around 200-210 F. Once I get on open road and get some air through the cooler, it comes way down.
A good rule of thumb to convert "C" to "F" is: Double the number and add 15. This appies pretty close in the ranges of oil and water operating temps.
