Raydyot Mirrors
I want to use the Raydyot replica spun aluminum mirrors but I am curious if those of you that have them are satisfied with their stability while driving. Some are mounted on the windshield pillars, others on the fender, or door and some on a metal bracket in the center of the dash. Are they stable? Do they vibrate to the point of being difficult to see into? How about the field of vision rearward in lieu of the more conventional rectangular center mirror?
Thanks in advance
Rick..........

Rick I have the Raydyots and they don't vibrate at all. I made my own mounts - dash and both side of the windshield. My problem is the field of vision. I'm thinking of changing to the convex shaped mirror or for a quick fix the convex glue on.

We are using them on two cars, we purchased from NAPA Auto the convex mirror. Just had to unscrew and re-install, easy.

I've got three--two on windshield frame, one in the middle--which is convex from factory. They work great.

Thank you guys. One last thing, where did you purchase the side mounts (if they mount on the windshield pillar?) Is this what you have done? Or into the ferrell in the door for the side windows?
Thanks to all of you

Allan Do you have the part number for the NAPA convex mirror?
Rick I made my mounts out of aluminium stock and they work great. Finishline has some nifty ones too. I spent about $6 and a Sat. fabricating and polishing. Finishline will cost you $75.

My are stable as well. Mounted on the windshield. The passenger side won't close in enough since they are mounted horizontal vs vertical. I used the mounts from Finishline from where I got the mirrors. There's some guy from England with a better mount including pics. I been meaning to "search" him out again and find out what he used. Perhaps you can as well.

GSnake,
Sorry I looked in the garage and could not find the old paperwork. Just take the mirror down to the store and pick one out, I think it cost 2 or 3 bucks.

Rick, Are you driving yet?
I thought for sure you'd be leaving twin wiggly black lines down the road by now. Did you decide to do mirrors just to see what you're leaving behind? Definitely time to update the gallery.

My windshield mounts are the most beautiful and fastest ones ever made--added at least 20 hp per side!
Made by an arruminum wizard up north...Pat Buckley. All BS aside--very simple, very neat--and no shaking!

Jamo: I'm looking for at least 25 aero HP. High winding small block needs it. Body shoud be done at the painters within a week, (note crossed fingers).

where to mount?
Rick,
I've found the windshield mounts work well too. I've done some playing around with three different type custom-made bracket setups. The trick is integrating the mount with windwings (if you have those), mounting them high enough to see over the rear fenders, and also making some brackets that provide additional angle inward so you can actually use both driver and passenger side mirrors. If you mount them to the side of your winshield flat, and forward of the wind wings, the RayDots do not rotate inward enough without some assistance in bracketry/fixtures that will also change the angle inward just a bit more. Good Luck.

My opinion is that the right side mirror is there for the passenger to keep track of any police...
It is too far away to be seen by the driver - IMO
