CSX for resale value, definately. The 42000 is a great deal considering everything included.
No regrets with my ERA though.

On some level, we're all saying the same thing, no matter what we've chosen for ourselves. CSX IS KING all things considered because it's a Shelby. Even though other manufacturer's cars compare in performance and quality, a lot of people buy these cars worrying about resale value and collectability, and Shelby happens to have the right name and heritage.
But, we're just speculating about the $42K CSX SA rollers (not 42 when they have engines and trannies) until they start showing up, and I know many have expressed concerns. As I said above, I have high hopes that they will show up, and that they will be of high quality.
I know several LV CSX 4000 series owners that aren't very happy, but I don't have "a dog in that fight."

In my opinion...A "Shelby" has not been made since the '60s.
Anything after that is a "replica".
I am sure that will make me popular.
If all were the same money, which they are not,.... Resale alone would demand common sense pick the CSX.

Technically and legally there is only one Cobra. The CSX.
The rest are replicas of a Cobras.
If you want a Cobra there is only one choice.

BB427,
so what do you suggest Shelby call the car he builds today? How about calling it a Saleen? Oh wait that name is taken. How calling it a Roush? Oh, that name is taken too.
Hmmmm,,,,, I know, why doesn't he name it after himself? Yeah, he should call it what it is
A FREAKIN' SHELBY COBRA! WHY DO SOME OF YOU XZ%&$JI^% HAVE A PROBLEM WITH A GUY NAMING HIS CAR AFTER HIMSELF????

Oh yeah. Forgot to add that for guys refusing the recognize the new Shelby as a REAL Cobra are in most cases motivated by sour grapes.
There, I said it.

I was just waiting for Evan to jump in! Now where is that new Deacon guy? Lets hook he and Evan up! Tickets go on sale at 11.
By the way, I agree, the new CSX are REAL Shelby Cobras (just not original of course )
In answer to the question, I am not sure. I have not had the oportunity to check out all four of the cars side by side. I would definiatly lean in the direction of the CSX. The only thing that would keep it out would be some problem/flaw/feature that could not be overcome or I just couldn't live with (not likely!). Then of course I would have to look at customer service, satisfaction, business history etc.
Besides then I could change my CC screen name to REAL2.

SA PRICING
With all they other south african cars going up in price on average $3000.00
cause of the denar (sp). That would bring it up to $45000.00 thats not to far off from were they before meaning the vegas built ones.

Simetimes its just fun to throw a raw piece of meat to the dogs and watch them fight over it.
The CSX is,without a doubt, the modern day dream car of some "Cobra" owners. To be able to call it real is something we all might want to do but can't. I am young and built what I could at this time. I am VERY proud of it, however, I can only call it what it is .... a kit.

If they are all at the same point in the build, like less engine and tranny or all complete cobra's, the answer is easy. Get the csx. A csx is closer to an original than the other cobras listed and design wise, still just as good if not better than the ones listed. They are all very nice replica's(sorry Evan, a spade is a spade), and complete at 42k, I would be happy with any of them. Scott

First ,resale was never a consideration. I'd buy the same one I did this time, the kind Ford displayed at the dream cruise parked next to their GT, and it wasn't a CSX.

Unfortunately, even the REAL Cobras will not get you an invite to the SAAC photo shoot with the original Cobras--so I am told. I have never been there.
Kirkham is the obvious choice. Ford showcased them at their SEMA display in Vegas last month, didn't they? That speaks volumes.

HMMMM, how about calling it,,, a "FREAKIN' SHELBY COBRA"
Question.... Suppose Carroll Shelby had died ten years ago and his name was purchased and used to promote the sale of new Cobra style cars from South Africa... would they be Shelby Cobras??

Cal: True. Original is original. Thats understandable and fair.
However, there will be no originals allowed in the Continuation Cobra photo shoot.

I hate to say it but the "Shelby" name really doesn't do much for me other than for resale value. This is not the reason I own an ERA because the truth is it is as much as I could squeeze out of my budget & though an awsome car the least expensive that I would own. If budget were not an issue , not including originals,I would own a Kirkham before a Shelby...In the end they are all replicas to me.

BB,
I'm sorry, but that comment is a real stretch. I personally couldn't care less, on many levels, as to whether or not it's a "CSX".
This may be your thinking but you're not speaking for the majority of owners on this. Not by a long shot.....
