Lets not forget the aluminum Shelby's are made in Poland by a company in Utah, possibly with materials from Germany or England and sold to Shelby in Nevada.
Does it matter? I think not. It's all about percieved quality and a CSX# to determine of it's acceptable.
Just my $.02

I have some Chevrolet's here that were made in Canada, and Mexico.
Some Cadillacs are made in Germany!
When time comes for trade in, we look at the condition, mileage, NEVER the country of origin.
On collector cars it should and will be different. Years from now, CSX numbers on Shelby product will tell us, if it was a Polish car, South African car, or Las Vegas car. They may be of identical quality, and some may even be better than others.
Number of cars built, sources they came from will always identify those cars as to their origin and value.
Currently CSX3XXX series sell for hundreds of thousands, not because their fit and finish are better than the CSX 4000 cars.
They are what they are. Special, rare unique Historical cars.
It maybe a long time before the SA built cars are identified with such uniqueness. If EVER!

Excaliber:
I am confused.
If you are so in love with a CSX, why are you buying a Classic Roadster?

Isn't a Shelby the same as an American Olympic athlete?
Doesn't matter where they were born, China, Germany, or Turkey. As long as they end up American citizens, they can compete as Americans, and Americans will support, cheer, and be glad if they win for the US of A.
Why would where a body, frame, assembly came from? Shelby's American, his company is?

I'll try to remain calm........
I don't have to like or dislike something that is FACT. It by it's very nature supports itself.
FACT: Shelby builds a car and names it after himself.
Again I have to ask,WHY is that simple fact so hard for you "FANATICS" to understand?

750hp,
The questions were asked in earnestness. They may be rumors or factual but until someone within the organization addresses them, they become major obstacles for several potential purchasers.

And I'm Ernie!
What difference does it make where the car was fabricated? (Exception is China- I draw the line there too)

What's wrong with China? Just think, by the time they make them in China they will be mass market items with numbers in CSX400000 range
Earnie, I must admit, you are filling in for Evan quite well .

At least Evan owns a CSX, so I expect him to have that zeal about a car he owns. I don't have as many posts,by a long shot , as Ernie but in all the threads I've read since I've been around Ernie is the only one to use the P.O.S. term referring to another replicar mfg. While I have never made a derogatory comment about another car, until now, that takes a lot of balls from someone that owns what I consider one of the butt ugliest Cobra replicas made, an Excalibur, sheeeet. And the question begs, and someone else beat me to it, why did you order a Classic? I'm not sure what his labor is, but I find it difficult to believe that DV could build as nice a car as he does for much less than a CAV Shelby. So when it comes to putting your money where your mouth is, you went elsewhere. Hell, with supporters like you CS doesn't need any enemies.

Woodz,
Attacking someone personally is uncalled for IMO.
Frankly, with the vitriol above, I am glad your post count is what it is.

Assolutely uncalled for...
It stops now. Folks, either get back on track and discuss the merits [sic] of Deacon's questions or this thread is at an end.
BTW, Oinie...assolutely NO need for a response. You were a bit poisenal earlier in this "discussion".
Any questions? Feel free to bite me.

I am with TC. Ernie may be a little zealous but I am to, all I can say is he let me drive his "as you say BUTT UGLY" cobra when I met him for the first time in Hawaii. I had a great time, thanks again Ernie.

When someone calls another car a "square tube POS" That is uncalled for, and childish. The back and forth of opinion is for entertainment...thats it. Once you let youself get PISSED, its just not fun anymore. Ernie, you should adopt more of a "casaleeniesque" attitude, your heart will thank you for it.

Isn't this a little like asking a guy of he's still beating his wife?
In any case... hope they ARE rumors!

Lurk,
Deacon was a Shelby American insider and if anyone can dispell rumors, he's one of the most qualified. From the latest post by their newest Tri State dealer, the new CAV fiberglass cobra is quite nice and Eric has a good reference frame so we know at least one cobra will be in someone's Christmas stocking.

As for vitriol, you can look at my previous posts and see that I try to avoid that type of post as a matter of fact most of mine are in the tech arena even though I read other threads. I have no dislike for Ernie, but felt that he has made some of the most negative comments regarding other mfg.'s and was showing him that others too could express "opinions", that's why I stated "what I consider". I wouldn't have even said it, if the repeated term"Idiots" hadn't been used. I would have still asked about his choice though, since he does seem to have an attraction to CSX's.
