Dependant on whose wheel you end up using, you should be able to track down a pre-made spacer. A while back I read an article where it noted that you can heat-up and bend the turn signal stalk to get more clearance. Looking at my unit, I’m not sure I would risk having it break, but someone else may have been successful in doing so.
