Oil Thermostat selection

I know I need to run an oil thermostat in my FE/Oil Cooler setup. But not having any previous experience with the brands, are there pros/cons between these two:

Earls 502ERL sandwich type $100
or
Perma-Cool remote type $45 plus $15 in AN adapters

Other than price difference, is one preferred over the other?
